How long will the pride event/car last?
I literally just heard about this game because One Angry Gamer was crying over it on his blog, so I saw this game has a cute rainbow car and I want to buy the game for myself and my husband. Thing is, we currently don't have our desktop up and running and probably won't until after June. :C Will the rainbow car still be available after this event? Will there be other pride color cars, too? I think that'd be neat, but the rainbow is fine, too.

Depends entirely if you are good at this game, I guess. You need to collect all coins and finish first in all events, so if you aren't familiar with the tracks and coin-locations, it'll probably take a few attempts.
Oh, and go for handling-cars.

And you're not helping by being insulting either. :EsheUnimpressed:

Depends tbh. For me it was really easy but I played this game a lot. Someone new might struggle a bit with it, because you have to collect all coins and also win all races to unlock the rainbow skin. Pick a car with very good handling (and keep the nitro to overtake the leader) and just learn the tracks and I guess it wont take longer than two hours or so even for a starter.

Also the "Summer Vibes" DLC or whatever its called also has a (unlockable) rainbow skin in it.

It would amount to nothing, if only the dev's reaction to anyone saying "I don't like this" weren't "omg hater, thread locked, banned from the boards." Now THAT is fragile.

This.

In the past discussion was encouraged and people with varying views were able to talk and figure out where each party was coming from - they may never have agreed but could still have a beer with each other during or afterwards.

These days it's all 'dissent from current groupthink is to be eliminated'.

I mean, the only reason to dislike a pride event in a game is because of bigoted reasons. There is no other reason.

No. It's because politics have no place in games. And I say that as a gay male who is disappointed that it has come to this. As others have rightfully pointed out let games be games. All this virtue signaling is a detriment to us.

Edit to add: the fact you say the *only* reason someone could dislike something is because of bigoted reasons only goes to show your own Bigotry, But I am used to that having grown up with it.

And I personally wonder that have games not always been available for everyone? Why do you need to even mention it that "now our gaming is available for EVERYONE". So what it not before? I just really try to understand why (gaming) companies do this

And the reason is not always bigoted. IT's not always about racism. About hating some minorities. To me it just looks like people are virtue signaling.

Social media was a mistake.

Social media was definitely a mistake. Let the sheep pat each other on the back while the people that actually work hard for a living and don't have time - nor the interest - in that rubbish to contribute. Echo chamber of echo chambers where now we have Police 'bending the knee' like swearing feelty to another dutchy in medieval times.

"Everyone who disagrees with me is some evil 'ist' or 'phobe'!" That's quite a tempting way of thinking, but it reeks of authoritarianism.
