Hi mac83, are you playing on the same machine as you're last session?
We're aware some of you are facing some save issues lately, and most of them seem to be related to Steam cloud saving. Since the platform has seen a great influx of players the last few days due to the isolation measures adopted around the world, it seems the save data server is a bit slower and sometimes fails to synchronize save data properly
Perhaps surprisingly, the issue happened on the same machine. I might have closed Steam between one gamnig session and the next, tho (I can't recall the details).
After copying and pasting a few files I got most of my progress back, but now they aren't in sync between machines anymore. It's much better than starting from scratch but it's mildly inconvenient in the middle of a tournament.
I can imagine, since you won't have access to the same number of unlocked cars depending of your progress
My sugestion is that you turn on Steam Cloud synchronization in the machine you have the most progress and, when a pop-up asking which save files you want to use shows up, choose the local files. This usually sends the most recent files to the cloud, which then you can download on the other machines you play the game and synchronize your progress through all of them.
I only got the DLCs, now I have an new Version of the Game and the Savegame has multible Parts. There was only one part safegame before.
I have noticed that the savegame directory is full of files. I don't know if it was like that before. I'm afraid it will hit some kind of cloud save limit soon.
Hi mac83,
This is a normal behaviour for the save folder: Horizon Chase Turbo creates automatically multiple save files as a way to do an "automatic backup" of your data. It creates a total of 50 files and automatically deletes the older ones and new saves are created.
Old Version, two files:
0000_savedusers.sav
1000_userprofile.sav
New Version with DLC saves multiple files, renaming change nothing :( :
0000_savedusers.sav
1000_userprofile!xxxxxxxxxx!.sav
I have a backup of the old data, maybe you can fix it for me?
Hi P.A.P.S, so sorry for our delay in answering you
This shouldn't be happening since Horizon Chase Turbo doesn't create a new save file format that separates who got only the base game and those who bought the DLCs
My suggestion is that you first make a local backup of your save files, turn off steam cloud and, then, start deleting them from the most recent to the oldest, testing each of them to see if you''ve got your progress back.
It seems your game has accidentaly created a new save that is being read as a new journey, and that's why you're having this problems.
You can also try to delete the files in the save folder (after backing them up for security) and put your backup data there. But remember to turn off Steam Cloud while you do that, otherwise the software will keep downloading the data that doesn't have the desired progress attached.
I tried again and again, but it changes nothing. The Format of the Savegames is also totally different:
My old one begins with:
W!E*M# *%IksR;8 o'
the New ones with:
{"UniqueUserID":"4dc7287
...and it is readable, the old one not.
Maybe you have removed the support for the old Savegameformat in later Updates?
