$3.99CDN

STEAM
109 tracks

Local multiplayer

Quite the hike...

Nominated for run-on sentence of the year 2018.

Well, if it gets a 75% sale, it will look like a bargain and sell loads, even though it would still be more pricey than the mobile version. Maybe that’s their plan.

I got it full price, it's not that expensive. You can play in splitscreen from 2 to 4 players, if you got extra controllers. The extra cars are exclusive to the new 'remastered' version they launched here, I don't mind, plus they have been remodeled for the PC version, as for some reason PS4, didn't.

You also get two extra gamemodes I think as I never played the mobile version, such as Endurance and Tournament.

And soundtrack wise, I think a few extra music has been added for some tracks such as in Japan and China, do correct me if I'm wrong. I wanted the game, I wanted to support it, if you wanna pay so low for an idie game made to remember the old times, you clearly are not a good supporter, especially such music that very own Barry Leitch did with his heart.

And to you, Helghast, that was rather a bit blunt, I have to say.

This is paying $22.79 for a bottle of water, but ok.

You consider this, as a bottle of water. Yeah, I won't even try any further, I bet you would even pirate this game. I'm done here.

Nah I'm saying it's paying $22.79 for a bottle of water.

Because mobile games are cheap and they would have hard time selling it on a market where almost everything costs under a dollar. Most developers underprice their games on mobile.

Final Fantasy VI is $20CDN on Mobile. Your argument doesn't apply. They're overcharging PC users. Don't pay it.

What mobile doesn't have:

-Splitscreen multiplayer
-Better graphics
-Ability to perfect-launch
-~8 exclusive cars
-2 exclusive countries
-UI redesign
-Tournament and Endurance modes with unique gameplay mechanics (that's literally hours and hours of gameplay)
-More frequent bugfixes and optimizations
-Online leaderboards
-Ghosts
-Exclusive soundtrack
-Finally being unable to be forced to brake when decelerating

I'd say it's very fair to pay full price. It feels like a completely new game, even if retrieving what it had before.

I mentioned most of what you listed.

The graphics aren't better by elbow grease. It's a resolution increase you can utilize.

Bugfixes and optimizations due to issues exclusive to the PC release.

Nothing of what you listed justifies a price hike this significant.

“Exclusive soundtrack”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think this is unique to the PC version. The Horizon Chase soundtrack came out in 2015. It’s on Apple Music, Spotify, and probably others.

Ok, you're wrong. While most of the soundtrack may have came out in 2015, there are a number of new tracks exclusive to Horizon Chase Turbo, and there's a whole list of alternate mixes of practically all the tracks from Horizon Chase that just got released as well. I've been in contact with the composer, so I should know.

The reason there was a substantial price hike for this game going from Mobile to multiplatform is because the game had to be completely rebuilt from the ground up, and there was a physical release of the game as well. This version of the game had a higher production cost than the mobile version, so why not increase the price to recover the investment?
