How does local multiplayer work?
Can 4 players control their cars using one keyboard?

Is controller required for multiplayer?

Is there 2v2 sprints for co-op feel?

As far as I am aware, you can have up to 2 people on 1 keyboard. I think you would need Controllers (Or perhaps another keyboard, I'm not sure) for any more players. Not sure about the 2v2 sprints bit though, sorry.
Hope this helps :)

Thank you very much for taking time to answer. I just hope the devs would explain in detail how it works. I don't want the hassle of refunding.
I have a keyboard and a controller, I could do 2 players on the keyboard and add a 3 player who would use the controller, you can't have more then two players on a keyboard though, and adding more keyboards won't work since windows looks at 2 or more keyboards as if they are the same one, you can however do one player on one side of a keyboard, and another player on the other side of an extra keyboard, if both of you at the same keyboard doesn't feel all that great for various reasons
The ideal setup is always going to be with controllers, so I'd suggest knockoff USB SNES controllers for the complete experience.

Hi Darvelus, Alex is right, the game supports up to 2 players in the same keyboard. They're defaulted to WASD+Spacebar+Esc and Arrows+Enter+Backspace (Right Ctrl for nitro). But you can check and customize controls in the Options menu.

As Alex said, the quality of experience with 2 people sharing the keyboard depends largely on your keyboard model. Some don't allow pressing too many keys at the same time. That said, Horizon Chase Turbo doesn't use up a lot of keys :)

For more than 2 players, you'll need extra controllers.

You can set up the right amount of players and respective devices, create guest profiles and all, right when you start the game and choose Multiplayer. I've found an YouTube video showing this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JE4i89wO2VQ (it's in french and the player chose to call their friend "New Player" as default, but you get the flow).

Thanks for the interest and I hope you enjoy playing with your pals!

As for ways to play with friends (game mode spoilers ahead!):

  • In World Tour, you play through the campaign the same way you would when playing by yourself. You advance through countries and choose one race at a time. In each race you compete against your friends and the AI. But scoring is cooperative, meaning that you and your friends will progress through the campaign as a group.

  • In each Tournament, you have 4 fixed races. Tournaments are divided by countries, in 3 difficulty levels. After each race you are all scored and the player with most score at the end is the grand winner. Playing Tournament also unlocks new cars and the later difficulties.

  • In Endurance mode, you get to play several races at random, installing upgrades as you go and scoring points individually. This is Horizon Chase Turbo's "tower mode": if none of you finish in 5th or better, it's game over.

That's it in a nutshell. Several options depending on the kind of group you are and how much time you have at hand. All game modes can be played in split screen, they all count towards unlocking content, and everything is competitive with different levels of cooperation. Hope you like it!

I love the idea. Thanks for answering. Very few games support local multiplayer. Is there any way to send feedback and SUGGESTIONS?

Yes! You can send them to support@aquiris.com.br

You can also post here in the discussion board, but we're more sure to see it in the email.

hey this is an issue i don't know if the devs could fix it but when I was playing multiplayer in a programme called parsec that lets you stream the game so your friends could play online there was a weird latency issue that only happens with this game so I assume its a bug when somebody would turn it would take about 3 seconds to turn and then it would turn it really ruined it for me and my friends and i hope this is a issue that can be resolved sorry for any bad grammar and please tell me if somebody got a fix
Hi,
I have 6 controllers and 3 different makes.

I have:
PS3/PC Gamepad
Twin USB Gamepad
USB Joystick

Issue:
Except to trigger the main screen, I cant get any to work with the menu or actual game.
What am I missing?

Tried with and without x360ce_x64.exe

Why you can't just play head to head, without AI cars?
