The old modder communities defragmented and lot of us just quit as the next gen sims started to come (ac/rf2(r3e etc.). The way it changed back then is that 3DSMax and Blender took over trackbuilding and since BTB wasn't updated.. The old timers largely lost interest. It took a lot of work to get your track to be at all popular but at least we had that community to rely on, getting help, beta testers and so on. Now all that is gone. This is no replacement, if i ask something, i expect it to take days to get a response since Steam forums are NOT very popular.. People just don't visit this so often and we don't have tens of active modders anymore.
I used to release XPacks for BTB back then, if it has CK in front, those are my old XPacks. I do plan on making one XPack for various tools that i need for RTB (the old CK tools is quite crappy, it has basically one good tool, which is a ruler to put brakemarkers in the right place, that one just kicks ass), plus maybe some other basic stuff that i need but i don't know if i bother to upload them to the workshop...
Which is one huge hurdle, don't feel comfortable to upload anything to any content matching system and possible have problems sharing them elsewhere. I rather host them myself somewhere i have all the rights and can do what i want with it. I have no idea who will keep the rights to what with Steam system, i might just lose access to my own stuff and i can tell you: that SUCKS so bad when it happens... But the old BTB XPacks are still archived, i took care of the community archives after we lost Racedepartment repository and they are all backed up now by other members of BTB community (look us up in facebook). It is fairly easy to convert BTB XPacks to RTB.
A lot of those XPacks are mine, all the ones that have "CK" at the beginning (i used to release under CreamKreator alias, i changed that for obvious reasons..). You have my permission to do what you want with them.
I've recreated a ton of buildings from the former Hawaii Raceway Park to pretty close standards. You just have to work and learn.
