Ken Levine really only knows how to make one game, huh?
When I saw the trailer, I thought "wow, this reminds me a lot of Bioshock". Didn't even know Ken doll had his own studio. But seriously, does every game lead by him need to follow the same idea of "dropped into a world that's falling apart, you're to blame, and here's some sick powers you can use"?

I'm glad he got over that perfectionist innovation nonsense and is coming back to just pump out more Bioshock/SS2-Likes

We were starved, I want more Bioshock/SS2 immsim flooding the market until I get sick of them, which is never. 😤
I'm all for it.
When Arkane decided to stop making immersive sims, I already knew from the begining that red fall was going to be trash.

Can you explain what this woke is in relation to games? Cause I really don't get it. The whole concept is to be aware and say some things are not OK.

If you remember Infinite he took some of these topics up, what's wrong with saying that slavery was a bad thing for instance?

I think folks get to invested in politics to just face that there are ♥♥♥♥♥ that is not OK and folks won't stand for it. And I think that is problem with the US in general. Polarization is at it's peak and there is no interested from the right to just bury the hatchet and move on.

Now Florida is even banning books. Is that cool you think, and is that not "woke" in your terms? No idea what your terms are, sorry If I seem aggressive I'm just so fed up with politics being so polarizing and I feel like we're in a situation with everything that's going on that can end up being totally destructive to everything you and I love.

♥♥♥♥ politics and ♥♥♥♥ polarizing.

Nah, his best work was System Shock 2.

well this seems way more BS1 than BS Infinite, so I am happy with another one of those since most of the games that it inspired dont land for me. Maybe this wont either, but a spiritually successor to the first with some of the psuedo-rpg back sound great.

No twist or a new one you dont expect that says nothing about game design tropes is fine with me.

It's probably not a very popular opinion, but Bioshock 2 is my favorite game of the trilogy, and Ken Levine had nothing to do with it. The end of the game made me weep like a baby, the story and characters intrigued me more than the others Bioshock.
No its the right opinion. Bioshock 2 was the best game from the tirlogy. Funny how people only know realising this ;)

I discovered this after beating the game. I was wondering why it it felt like the same thing all over again, just tighter controls and gameplay. Which would explain why it didn't feel like an actual sequel in the series, since each bioshock game was suppose to be new and different for each game, varying in different biomes and philosophical concepts.

Sorry to break it to you...but every Shock game has been woke. Every Ken Levine game has been woke. Because woke was never something new or invented. Its reality and awareness beyond preconceived prejudices.

Playing as Big Daddy was so satisfying for me. Prob will replay that game quite a lot. I keep returning to it :)
If you listen to the interviews he gave over the years, it sounds like he's more into writing and world building, while gameplay is something that he prefers not to think about too much. He even sounds a bit annoyed sometimes that he has to cram these ideas into a first person shooter where guns are merely a distraction for the player. It's a bankable genre that's easier to green light with a publisher, but it also makes it difficult the get some points across sometimes. Hence the whole "ludonarrative dissonance" criticism around Infinite, for example.

and why would that be a problem? I think it's hilarious that they complain about Ken for making the same bioshock kind game, but I never see anyone say anything about From Software and Rockstar, who have been making the same crap open world and souls like games for years. But we haven't had a bioshock in over 10 years. If ken can delivers a spiritual successor, thats great, because i want it.

I'd say the artstyle separates each installment. San Andreas even had that orange tint to it.

so far the dialogue and art is massive cringe in Judas. Let's see if that lauded technical side can make up for it.

Bioshock 1 and infinite doesn't have seperate artstyles?

I liked Bioshock games so I am not seeing what the problem here is. It's not as if we are swamped with Bioshock-likes or something.
