What Does the Skull Icon Mean?
I've seen monsters have some stat that is represented by a skull. Can anyone tell me what that means? I see some monsters have infinite. Sorry if it's obvious and I just missed it.

Infinite means that your attack is lower than their defense, so you have no chance to hurt them. The skull, I think, means that you'd be killed instantly if you fight them. Either way, it's not good.

The skull represents to the damage you have to take in order to kill it. This value has taken the double offensive effects of items of yours into account (i.e the cross/dragon slayer against zombies/dragons). However it does NOT take other special abilities such as damage of magical attacks or enemy-firsts(facing the dwarfs directly or the helldog) as well as HP absorption or self detonation.

Infinite means that your offsensive power is lower than the foe's defensive power, therefore cannot hurt him and results in your own death.

No the skull means that is the amount of damage you will TAKE if you fight the monster. So if the skull says 300, you will take 300 damage by killing the creature, based off how much damage he will do to you over the fight.

Infinite of course means you can't damage him no matter what. So if you see a foe with 11 skull, then you an kill it easy and it will do 11 damage to you in the fight total. If it says 2500, don't mess with it until your attack and defense are better because your life will be 2500 lower after the battle.

sometimes you just have to take a few hits to get something good. Oh, a +40 shield icon behind that monster, but it will do 450 damage to me, worth it for the icon! bonsaii!

yea the actual monster grinding isn't hard once you learn the basics, but the few hard parts are those encounters that can instant kill you and mess up your game if you don't know about them, since you can't flee from boss fights, like you might accidently attack the genie trying to pass him then your dead, and have to restart hours ago, etc.
