NovaBlitz is a game that rewads players for knowing their cards and having the ability to make strategic decisions quickly. For many players this is a breath of fresh air. Games are short and and exciting while still rewarding them for playing strategically. I can see how a new player could feel at a disadvantage until they'd learned the cards and abilities.
We do have a design for a game log to the arena as well as the ability to see what cards have gone to your trash. (If you look at the UI around your hand you might see where we've left space for it) Once we're out of our bug fixing mode I suspect that will be one of the first features we add.
Your opponent plays some cards that you never saw. If player spends time to learn theses cards he doesn't have time to think about current turn. And for new player this scenario occurs constantly. So I think there is some weird interaction between learning and playing. Maybe match log could be available after match end, so player could learn cards after.
