Extra Seasoning Open Beta
The Extra Seasoning Open Beta is here!

CURRENT VERSION 2.1.7b - Testing stats bug fixes and AI improvements.

The Xbox version launched[www.microsoft.com] and the Steam version is now in open beta. Please post any feedback here or chat on our Discord[discord.gg].

Don't forget the The Official Steam Soundtrack is available with all the Extra Seasoning tracks! Existing customers can still save with SSDT: The Bundling.

What is the next step?

1) More testing
2) Are we good?
3) Release!

NOTE: Steam achievements are now "live" but only attainable in the open beta! There's no way to test the achievements without pushing them live.

Almost done

With the Xbox version launched, the Steam version update is in sight. Thanks for your interest in SSDT over the years. Enjoy the beta and happy holidays!

Just a small update: Pre-Platform Beta is ready for 1st round of tests. Please let me know if you'd like to play it before release.

I would love to beta test the season mode if it is still available!

Sure thing! I sent you an invite.

Is it going to have CPU vs CPU on the updated version without having to plug in and out controllers?

It's fine if it doesn't, I've been streaming cpu vs cpu stuff on Discord and it's utter chaos.

There's not an "official" way to do this planned right now, the unplugging controllers thing was an unintended side effect. That's also going to give you a weird CPU team because instead of the normal AI it will use the "player support" AI which behaves differently. There's a similar bug in the existing Steam release where joining mid-match on an AI team will keep the non-player support AI (which has been fixed for the Season Mode update).

It would be very cool to have an official mode for this but I'm swamped at the moment with Xbox testing and bug fixing for the Xbox beta. So -- such a feature definitely won't be in the initial update.

All that said I think it'd be very informative to have a proper setup screen where each CPU team could be configured and choose which of the 6 new Season Mode AI personalities to use and watch how they compete.

See post below!

I spent a little bit of time on my day off and I've come up with a quick "secret" way to do this with a keyboard key on the title screen's PLAY menu. Basically it's the same set up as the demonstration/attract mode right now except there's a timer and the cpu teams play the whole match. This will be in the PC version's update after the Xbox release (at least in this admittedly minimal form)!

That's great, heh, I might start poking a few friends if they'd like to throw together their own team compositions.

I've been taking a few days off, and of course on my off days I'm playing with this new feature. It now randomly picks AI personalities from the Season Mode teams so you can see Lobbington Baskets face the Cowtown Lonestars for example : https://youtu.be/AIkPAYIXTIQ

SSDT launches with this feature on Xbox in 3 days! The secret code to watch CPU matches on the title screen should be familiar to old school gamers :)
