Ty! I heard Tycoon-like games are hard to make though because of all the math that's involved I think and the setup. Try your best though!
Pretty much
I know, the horror thing gets way too overrated and I just thought of this because I've been craving for new Tycoon-like games. Add any ideas if you have any to either of the topics covered in this thread!
Maybe have day and night modes to the game.
Day mode involves you maintaining the restaurant like above, but in night mode the goal is to take on the role of the animatronics and cause as much havoc as possible and get the restaurant closed. So there are two ways to play the game.
You can also take these modes online and/or with 2 players, and have scenarios where if you're playing in day mode someone else online will try to ruin your restaurant during the night phase. If you're playing night mode, someone online will try to prevent you from closing the place.
That sounds like a pretty cool idea too, but I still think there should be some sort of business strategy in the game where you have to prevent the animatronics from reeking havoc as I said with the Nightguard Equipment. And make sure the Nightguards don't get stressed or they will quit their job.
Btw, I think the game could be on PC as well. (I usually play most Tycoon-like games on the PC) but it would be cool if it was for mobile too.
Basically what happens in this version in my head is that you don't actually see what happens during the night phase (unless you're playing 2 player or online). If you're playing in day mode whenever a new day starts you get notified about things that happened and see how it has effected the place. So you have from 6 AM to 6PM to fix as many problems caused by the animatronics while also maintaining the place and keeping everyone happy. You also use night guard equipment as a form of traps and limitors for the animatronics; so you can use like motion sensors and door locks for example to keep the animatronics from doing more carnage during the night. So you have less to deal with the next day.
If you're playing the night phase though, you have from 6PM to 6AM to cause as much carnage as possible while trying to work around and/or outwiting the traps set by the AI, or person playing the day phase if you're online or playing 2 player mode.
So day phase is micro management
Night phase is timed puzzle solving
That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea for a video game either.
My version is more like... Prison Architect meets Zoo Tycoon in which you can choose which each floor will be like Prison Architect (Ex: Security Guard floor, Display floor, eating floor, Pirate's Cove floor, etc.) and have different types of upgrades for things like many other Tycoon strategy games, but it will have it to where the animatronics would be on for display during the day and you make your money there while you you would have to try everything in your power to save the nightguard at night with your upgrades that you installed.
So the idea is kind of similar except yours is more strategic Tycoon and mine is more of a building type Tycoon.
You mean like where you can name your own employees and everything? Yeah I was thinking that too. I'd probably name all my security guards after Mike, Jeremy, Phone Guy, And Purple Man.
