'Toy' could have been just a term used to describe something kid friendly.

I know this is a little "off-the-rails", but this little guy has bugged me ever since I played the 2nd game. Flashlight's not on, yet this thing's eyes are GLOWING. I know it probably doesn't add up with most of the widely accepted timelines, but could this guy have anything to do with the aptly named Psychic Friend Fredbear?
Why does that mean he's the Puppet? What's the meaning behind the Puppet jumpscare in FNAF 2's minigame then? I'm just supposed to ignore that? The Black and white armband on the puppet is proof but I'm not to question the purple and white armband on the opposite arm?
Can someone who knows what's going on explain to me why the Crying Child ISN'T Mangle? Because the breadcrumbs I see lead me to that belief.
Psychic friend Fredbear tells crying child he's broken, and that he can be put back together again. What animatronic gets taken apart and put back together again? MANGLE!
Who's minigame in FNAF 3 has a crying child in it much like the crying child in FNAF 4? MANGLE!
What's in the box? It's the pieces put together. What animatronic is attributed to being taken apart and the pieces put back together? MANGLE!
Who is conspicuous by their absence in the main nightmare game of FNAF 4 despite making an appearance in the FNAF 4 minigames? We have Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Freddy, Fredbear and Plushtrap. Oh yeah, MANGLE!
But MegaHarv, MANGLE's a girl! To which I say, why can't a boy spirit inhabit the vessel of a female animatronic? (Which appears to have been a favorite of the inhabitant of the mysterious pink room, which I presume to be whomever Psychic Friend Fredbear is possessed by, who seems to have the power to auger children's spirits to animatronics. Though this point feels more like conjecture.)
And if we're to believe the twin sister theory I've seen floating around, then Mangle could very well be possessed by 2 spirits if Mangle has a mysterious buddy following him around. Although that brings up the question, who would then be possessing the cupcake?
Please, what evidence am I overlooking that points the crying child to being someone else? I'm open to suggestion, but all the headcanon that people are posting as evidence is wearing me down. I'm guilty of headcanon too, but we need to recognize it as a problem in order to steer down the correct path.
In Mangle's Quest in FNaF3, if you're trying to get the good ending you exit the main area of the minigame and drop down into this weird red and black striped area reminiscent of an Atari-esque version of the FNaF4 title screen. In this area there's a silhouette of the Puppet on its knees crying in the same stance as the kid in FNaF4 when he dies on Night 6. Here's an image of it...

And here's the FNaF4 moment it's referencing...

Actually FNaF4 makes it seem like the kid stabbed outside became BB... In the Night 3 minigame the BB-like kid is standing next to a car like the one in "Take Cake".
BB didn't have a jumpscare in FNaF2 and we knew nothing about how he fit into the story.
yeah... also I had a disturbing theory
I know that. I said, "Who's minigame in FNAF3 has a crying child in it much like the crying child in FNAF 4? MANGLE!"
I don't understand how seeing a kneeling child in the Mangle minigame proves that the child is the Puppet. I find it off putting that I'm expected to ignore the puppet jumpscare in FNAF2. Does that mean that BB is 3 BBs because in BB's minigame there are 3 BBs in the background, therefore BB is 3 BBs? (As well as an unrecognizable Mangle tree looking thing) The whole BB screen doesn't fit anywhere, and I'm wondering how much of this lore is going to be exposed in the movie.
