That being said, where does he fit into the lore? The same place as the other Nightmares. The crying child knows the real BB in real life, so he probably just incorporated him into his dreams later. Why is he afraid of his own friend enough to have a Nightmare about him? That I can't answer just yet. It's unclear.
As far as the Phantoms go, I'll make another post about my opinion on that.
