Breaking Down all Phone Guy Hints and Lies: FNAF 1
Going to expect everything Phone Guy says to be true unless it can be demonstrated otherwise, but will point out likely inconsistencies.

Phone Guy gives us the most hints, so we need all the concrete information we can get.

F1N1

"Um, I actually worked in that office before you. I'm finishing up my last week now, as a matter of fact."

Means that the week of 11-1-XX to 11-5-XX, Phone Guy was working as the night guard.

"Uh, let's see, first there's an introductory greeting from the company that I'm supposed to read. Uh, it's kind of a legal thing, you know. Um, "Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza."

Supposed to read various stuff for the company. Becomes pertinent later.

"Uh, the animatronic characters here do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No. If I were forced to sing those same stupid songs for twenty years and I never got a bath? I'd probably be a bit irritable at night too."

Means that the place has been around for 20 years. I will cede the possibility that he was exaggerating, but that's still at least 15 years.

"So, remember, these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children and we need to show them a little respect, right? Okay."

This matches somewhat closely to what the CEO says in the newspaper clipping, "These characters will live in. In the hearts of kids- these characters will live on."

"Uh, they used to be allowed to walk around during the day too. But then there was The Bite of '87. Yeah. I-It's amazing that the human body can live without the frontal lobe, you know?"

Included for completion.

"They'll p-most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now since that's against the rules here at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, they'll probably try to...forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear suit."

This is demonstrably untrue. Bonnie passes by a metal endoskeleton and doesn't stuff it into a suit.

"Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when they pop out the front of the mask, heh."

Dang, rereading this makes me think of the first time I heard this horrifying prospect...

I think we have a lot of proof that we're seeing the kids' eyes and teeth, though.

F1N2

This night has more supposition than the others, and at first I felt it could be safely ignored.

"Uh... Interestingly enough, Freddy himself doesn't come off stage very often. I heard he becomes a lot more active in the dark though, so, hey, I guess that's one more reason not to run out of power, right?"

Freddy gets more active in the dark.

"The character in there seems unique in that he becomes more active if the cameras remain off for long periods of time. I guess he doesn't like being watched. I don't know."

Foxy gets more active when he's not watched, allegedly because he doesn't like being watched. If that's true, then doing things they don't like causes the animatronics to slow down and become more manageable.

If that's true, then Freddy likes hiding and the dark. Certainly we see him hiding a lot, like in the bathroom.

F1N3

"Most people don’t last this long. I mean, you know, they usually move on to other things by now. I'm not implying that they died. Th-th-that’s not what I meant. "

Liar! I wonder if he stutters when he's lying.

Reading back, it seems more likely it's just when he's horrified by something.

"Uh... Hey, listen, I had an idea: if you happen to get caught and want to avoid getting stuffed into a Freddy suit, uhh, try playing dead!"

This works, but not for the reason suggested...or is it?

Obviously the one Bonnie sees is playing dead...

F1N4:

"Uh, hey, do me a favor. *bang bang* Maybe sometime, uh, you could check inside those suits in the back room? *bang bang* I'm gonna to try to hold out until someone checks. Maybe it won’t be so bad. *bang bang* Uh, I-I-I-I always wondered what was in all those empty heads back there. *chime plays*."

Someone pointed out earlier that it specifically says empty heads, not empty suits. This suggests that only the head is important (maybe even only the brain) and explains how we can fit a child neatly into these huge suits.

"You know...*moan* oh, no - *noises followed by an animatronic screech and static*"

Although we hear sounds for all of the animatronics, the final scream is that of Golden Freddy.

If Phone Guy is Purple Guy, then he was holding out all right but couldn't escape from Golden Freddy. We know from 2 that Golden Freddy can be escaped by putting on the mask very quickly, and Purple Guy attempted to do this via Springtrap.

F1N5

Pure garbled nonsense.

Question: Bonnie and Chica make garbled nonsense also. Has anyone attempted to translate that?

So I'm told. Going to let someone more aware and understanding of all that make the case.
""They'll p-most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now since that's against the rules here at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, they'll probably try to...forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear suit."

Not necessarily. It is stated in Fnaf 3 that the animatronics have digital map layouts, so it is likely they don't do anything to that endoskeleton because it's supposed to be there. "Every location is built with one extra room that is not included in the digital map layout programmed in the animatronics or the security cameras."

Also, Phone Guy isn't Purple Guy

N1:

Actually, since the phone calls were prerecorded, they could've been made at any time the place is open, and Phone Guy gone for months, maybe even years.

Also, he says specifically mentions that the characters have been around for 20 years, not the place itself.

Well, the suit is backstage. It is possible that the programming calls for any endoskeletons outside, but I doubt it.

It's very unlikely that the kids are still inside of the suits. We have an endoskeleton with the exact pair of teeth and eyes as the animatronics.

N4:

Just listen to the guy, he knows that he's going to be attacked. It's just a human being hoping that he might still be able to make it out. Also, it's been shown how easily someone can be stuffed into a suit, just look at the Game Over screen.

Phone Guy was cornered in the office, but Purple Guy was cornered in the safe-room.

N5:

People have tried making it out thousands of times. The closest thing to making sense is that it's an excerpt from "Autobiography of a Yogi." The excerpt pretty much states that metal has a life force, just like animals and plants. So it's pretty much the spirits saying they're in the suits.

The security guard is supposed to be there also.

I keep going back and forth on that.
