Five Nights at Freddy's 4

Five Nights at Freddy's 4

My interpretation of Scott's three hints
Hint #1: In the FNaF4 minigame, why would the tiny toy chica be missing her beak?

Hint #2: What is seen in shadows is easily misunderstood in the mind of a child.

Hint #3: Four games. One story.

These three hints appeared on Scottgames.com during MatPat's stream. Here is my interpetation of each of them.

The first hint is obviously talking about the minigame after Night 3 when you, as the kid, have to walk home from the restaurant. In an area that's strictly out of the way, you can see a girl in a playground with three action figures (not sure if it's appropriate to call them that but whatever).

One action figure of Toy Freddy, one of Toy Bonnie, and one of Toy Chica. Toy Chica's beak has been removed and it on the ground near the figures.

When approached, the girls asks why you are crying and asks if you like her toy collection.

^That is all fact, if you go and play the game right now, you can go and check this yourself.

Everyone seems to believe the first hint is referring to how seeing the toy with the missing beak would affect the child psychologically (basically going with the dream theory saying that the figure is the reason for Toy Chica removing her beak in FNAF 2). I....don't think I agree with this.

My interpretation of the first hint: Scott is directly asking why the beak is missing, not what affect seeing the toy like that would have on the bite victim.

The beak coming off would have to be the result of either someone messing with the toy and breaking it by accident, or pulling it off on purpose.

The girl with the toys doesn't seem affected at all by the fact that the toy is broken. This means it likely didn't come off by accident. Careful guys, I think this girl might be related to Sid from Toy Story (jk).

All in all, I'm unsure as to how the question can be answered.

My interpretation of the second hint: The second hint is a little more vague.

"What is seen in shadows is easily misunderstood in the mind of a child."

In order for it to be worth Scott mentioning, there needs to be something here. What I mean is, the kid has DEFINITELY misinterpreted something that he saw in the shadows. The hint couldn't possibly mean anything else. As to what was misinterpreted, that's a little unclear.

"in the shadows" could be either in a dark room, at night, or it could possibly be referring to the shadow animatronics.

Dark Room

There are two occasions in the minigames in which a dark room appears. The first one is during the Purple Man easter egg after Night 2, and the second one is after Night 4 when the kid is trapped inside what appears to be parts and services.

In the Night 2 minigame, the kid sees Purple Man helping someone else into a Spring Bonnie suit. The doors are closed afterwards.

In the Night 4 minigame, the kid has been locked in the room by someone. He is begging someone to let him out. In the room is an empty suit, various endoskeleton parts, and a few animatronic heads.

Night

None of the minigames in FNAF 4 take place at night. The Nights themselves are all but confirmed to take place in a nightmare. My guess is that these nightmares are not what the child misinterpreted, but rather what came as a result of said misinterpretation.

Shadow Animatronics

As most of you know by now, Shadow Freddy appears in the game as Nightmare, haunting the child in Night 7 & 8 (possibly the hidden 9th night, I'm not sure about that one).

There is also speculation of the shadow animatronics appearing on the wall inside the restaurant (people pointing out how those shadows can't exist naturally due to the light not shining in the right direction in order for the animatronics to cast them). I'm on the fence as to whether or not I believe this.

My interpretation of the final hint: Four games. One story.

The issue here is that all along, we've considered all 4 games as being one long story (spanning over half a century).

Previously, we thought that the story was about a man in purple killing kids and them possessing animatronics in an attempt to get revenge. Specifically, we considered the story to focus on the murderer himself, and the first six victims (Pappet and the animatronics from FNAF 1).

If Scott felt the need to specify this, then the 4 games must be connected on a much deeper level. There's something we're overlooking. To find out the timeline, we need to discover what the story is about.

By that, I mean that there is something that appears in all 4 games that is more important to the lore than anything else. We need to figure out what it is.

If the child in FNAF 4 becomes the Puppet and the story is about him, then that could make sense, but that hasn't been proven. Same with the child becoming Fredbear/Golden Freddy it could make sense, but it hasn't been proven.

I really want us to solve this guys, and I believe that we are capable.

ya know what if the fnaf 1 and 2 games are just a game the kid is playing with his toys WHILE HE IS AWAKE, basing it off of what other kids have told him, and his brother scaring the crap out of him? and the whole chica thing is just a mere coincidence, he saw it noticed it bam, his brain goes there for the character of chica, he misunderstands what the purple guy is doing, bam, he creates a character that kills people, and the children represent what he wishes would happen to his bullies, and the jumpscare thing, simply just his brothers actions playing a part in his game, forming a basis for the horror element.

and games 4 and 3 are the only games that actually happened, he dies, and then either the brother opens fazbears fright as a homage to the incident, and the fake stories his brother beleived, or he WAS the night guard in the attraction, it freaked him out and he burned that place down.

this theory is what i like to call the IT WAS A GAME HE WAS PLAYING WHILE HE WAS AWKAE THEORY. Just thought I'd throw that in there, so people would stop passing my theory off as the dream theory
