Why i can't stand FNAF

First things first, i don't hate Scott or anyone who plays his games. If you enjoy them, then good for you, but for me, that's just not the case.

I honestly, just can't stand these games and the amount of attention they're getting. Having a videogame is fine, but then a book and movie?? Come on now. Isn't that a little over excessive?

The only thing i enjoy about these games are the story and nothing else. The gameplay isn't very exciting nor fun, i find it very boring to play, but people are acting like they've never seen this type of game before and now there's a million different FNAF clones out there.

The scares in this game aren't really scares at all. Just jumpscares that pop out when you least expect them. It makes me wonder what kind of horror games people play now a days when they say that this is "the scariest game ever made". It also makes me roll my eyes when i watch someone on YouTube ♥♥♥♥ their pants because Freddy popped up on the screen. The game is also extremely difficult and not in a Dark Souls way. When playing on harder difficulties, the game becomes straight up cheap. You have to rely on luck half the time and hope an animatronic doesn't go down a certain hallway at a certain time.

The game at best, is mediocre.
It's not a terrible game, effort went into it, but does this deserve to have the amount of media attention it has? Not at all.

The biggest reason i cannot stand the game is the fans that surround it. I'm NOT judging the quality of the game based on the fans, this is completely seperate in in of itself.

Why does every FNAF fan have to hype this game to death? Why do some FNAF fans spend hours on some stupid clip art Nelson releases to try to find some "hidden message".

One of my good friends is OBSESSED with this game and i don't understand why. He has all the games, completed 20/20 mode on all of them, and during school in our Graphic Design course, he puts a bunch of FNAF posters and wallpapers into Photoshop and plays with the saturation to find some "secret messages". Really?

Again, if you love these game, i have no problem with that. however in my opinion and on a technical side of things, this game series has to be one of the most overrated of all time.

And other people consider the first one to be the best gameplay-wise. The same thing goes to the jumpscares, to a grown dude like me, FNaF 1, 2, and 3 are not scary, but for other people, they are, indeed, quite scary.

The fanbase sucks partially, I know that, it's full of small screaming kids, but there are also some very smart, well mannered, and welcoming people, so please, don't judge a full fanbase only looking at the worst part of it.

By the way you write, you look like an intelligent person, I apreciate the fact that you stated why you dislike the games in an educated way, that's why I'm going to give you a good advice. Get away from these forums as soon as posible. This place is meant for people who: 1-Like the games. 2-dislike the games and are stupid and want to troll to have fun for a while. And you don't seem to me like a stupid troll.
I'm sure you have better things to do other than saying in a forum for people who like a game, that in your opinion the game is not good.

I'm a massive fan of all things fnaf, but I like this guys opinion.

I just do hope there's no one going to go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on this because they love fnaf as much as I do. I mean I'm pretty heart broken by this, and will always be heart broken by fnaf hate. But I respect this 100% it's simply a man stating his opinion and it's not some troll going on about how much fnaf sucks. I have to admit, FNAF isn't the best game ever, it isn't scary either, but I have to disagree with the fact that you said it was 'luck-based'. It isn't, there are actually movement patterns and strategies that you have to memorize, it is NOT random.

In my honest opinion I like the games for their gameplay and lore. Not over exaggerating or anything but I did think the games were pretty scary. Saying that the games don't deserve media attention I personaly don't agree with. The movie I kind of doubt I will like but the book i'm pretty excited for. (I didn't get the book yet)

You do make a point though, some FNaF fans do obsess over it and it is kind of annoying.

But I will respect your opinion. You gave your opinion in a mature way.
