FNAF World Steam Download Method - Is it safe?

So FNAF World hasn't been on Steam since January 2016. At this point it'd be safe to say that the game is GameJolt exclusive. There is a way to get the game on Steam, but I'm afraid it would get my account banned. By copy/pasting the Steam install link for FNAF World in the Steam App, you automatically start downloading the game to your account.

I know the game is free on GameJolt, so I doubt Scott would be mad if people downloaded the Steam version this way. However, I am afraid that Steam itself would be confused and ban me. So, would I end up getting banned? I just want to know. Thanks~

You wouldn't be banned because half, if not, the whole fandom has done this.

Yes, trust me! :) That's how I got it! And whenever an update comes out it updates automatically when opening game.
