Five Nights at Freddy's 4

COUNT THE KIDS! | FNaF Theory
So, there a lot of dead kids in Five Nights at Freddy's. But how many are there? And who are they possessing? I've come with not really a theory, but just some thoughts on the subject. Feel free to comment and show your opinions. I'd love to hear what you think!
I'm not going into Sister Location because it's place in the lore is still undecided, and we know Baby is probably possessed by the little girl who dies in the death minigame. The others might be possessed, but they were programmed to kill, so it could just be that, and not vengeful children's souls.
Also, feel free to repost this on the other FNaF discussion pages, on Reddit forums, and YouTube comment strings to get this going around, as long as you credit me for it. Okay? Let's go.

So, let's get the easy ones out of the way. We know from the "Take Cake to the Children" death minigame in FNaF 2 that there was one child murdured by Purple Guy outside of the establishment. Which one? Well, as MatPat has said, judging by the single Freddy-like animatronic, small location, and the fact that this Freddy has a cupcake, Chica's signature item, this is Fredbear's Family Diner. This is the murder that gets Fredbear's shut down and ownership transferred to Fazbear Entertainment. We also know this child inhabits the Puppet, judging by the Puppet's jumpscare at the end of the minigame.

We also know from the newspaper clipings in FNaF 1 that five children were murdered by a killer in a Golden Freddy costume. This is known as the Missing Childrens Incident, and resulting in the restaurant finally getting shut down forever. We also know this takes place before your shift in FNaF 1, so we know these animatronics are haunted during your shift. Plus, the creepy moaning and laughing is enough to prove these aren't normal animatronics. So, five kids, five animatronics...most likely the FNaF 1 versions of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Golden Freddy.

So, that's great and all, but what about the other animatronics? Well, we can rule out the phantoms and shadow animatronics, because they're hallucinations. Springtrap is possessed by Purple Guy, so we can rule him out too. The nightmares are also dream-induced terrors, so those are out, but only if we're going by FNaF 1-4 lore, since Sister Location through everything about FnaF 4 out the window. Well, we still have the withered and toy animatronics left, and this is where it gets complicated.

Two death minigames in FNaF 2, the Foxy "Go! Go! Go!" minigame, and the "Give Gifts, Give Life" minigame each display five children. The Foxy minigame, judging by the existence of a Pirate Cove, and its location to a dining area, suggests this takes place in either the unseen Freddy Fazbear's location (which later is reworked into FNaF 1's pizzeria), or FNaF 4's Freddy Fazbear's as seen in the minigames. Here we see five children killed by Purple Guy again (damn, this guy's determined). Some people might argue that if this is the FNaF 1 location, these are the victims of the Missing Childrens Incident. It's not. Y'see, the incident is described as luring five children to the backroom, and there's no backroom here. Why would Purple Guy kill the kids in the backroom, then display them in the dining area (?), or vice versa? No. I think these are the kids that posess the withered animatronics from FNaF 2. I also think these are the same victims in the "Give Gifts, Give Life" minigame, as the Puppet gives life to the kids in the Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy suits, presumaly the older models that eventually become the withered animatronics. Plus, we see the fifth children briefly before Withered Golden Freddy's jumpscare, further backing up this theory.

Now, what about the toy animatronics? I don't think they're posessed. They're out to get you because of their security protocals, and the management is to stupid to tell the animatronics that the security guard is okay (or maybe there's been a killy (?) security guard in the past and they need to be on the lookout...). Anyway, the toys seem to be the most robotic, having programming malfunctions by Night 6, and becoming less of a threat as the week goes on. If they are possessed, I think it's by the kids in the "Give Gifts, Give Life" minigame (these animatronics, BTW, would be Toy Freddy, Toy Bonnie, Toy Chica, Mangle, and BB). This doesn't make as much sense though, because of the G. Freddy jumpscare, and a few other technical reasons.

So, there's one last animatronic: Fredbear, from the FNaF4 minigames. Fredbear doesn't seem posessed in this minigame, but if he is after the minigames, it's probably by the crying child, because he's the child Fredbear kills. Plus, the child seems to like Fredbear, even having a Psychic Friend Fredbear by his side (He's here, he's there, he's everywhere, who ya gonna call? Psychic Friend Fredbear!!!1!!lol). If Fredbear's not possessed, then I think the crying child is Withered Golden Freddy, and the four bullies who are later killed, are the children from the Foxy minigame who become the other withered. Why, well it seems like the minigame takes place in an older pizzeria, i.e. the FNaF4 Freddy's Pizzeria. It would also make sense that Purple Guy would lure the kids not to backstage, since they're older and that's sketchy, but to an open area not inhabited by many people: Pirate Cove, Foxy's area, if we assume there are animatronics for the main 4 in this Freddy's.

So, BOOM! The first victim is the puppet, the "missing children" are the FNaF1 animatronics, the Foxy minigame children, and possilby the crying child and the bullies are the withered animatronics, the toys aren't really possessed. So, that's a total of 11 dead children, or at the most, 17 animatronics. Damn.
What are you guys' thoughts? I'm actually quite curious for those of you how make it through this whole spiel. Sorry it's so long, but it's hard to summarize this whole thing in a TL;DR line.

But hey, that's just a theory. A Not-Game-Theory-Because-MatPat-Probably-Has-That-Copyrighted-But-Whatever-It's-Still-A-Theory-About-A-Game-So-You-Know Theory! That's for putting up with this LOL

I agree with the not-a-game-theory but I've been thinking - in fnaf 3, assuming the good end is cannon, which of the 2 sets of kid's souls move on? At first, I thought it must have been the withered ones since they are the ones who got stuffed inside suits by the puppet, and it is the puppet that helps the souls move on in the happiest day minigame, but the heads are clearly fnaf 1 animatronics so that wouldn't really make sense :/

After further thought, maybe the heads have the appearance of the fnaf 1 animatronics since the withered ones got remade into the fnaf 1 animatronics. This would mean that the souls of the original kids stuffed by the puppet were in the old suits, the suits got remade, then the souls decided to move on, and then the same suits were used to stuff the 5 new kids. (Which would kind-of make both of the endings cannon, with the original souls moving on (good end), but new ones now occupying the suits (which is quite cool considering Scott in an interview said when asked about which ending is cannon that he can't tell but the answer is really interesting))

um this isn't really a count the kids thing, but its about how bonnie is in everything

FNAF 1
He is the main one featured in the first fnaf trailer
he is the first to attack
he is in the 'its me' text

FNAF 2
He lost his arm and face
he has a shadow version of himself who crashes your game

FNAF 3
Springtrap, says is all
You play as shadow bonnie, not shadow freddy

FNAF 4
Someone puts on the golden bonnie suit
Plushtrap... why?

SISTER LOCATION
Bonnie is a puppet, literally
Ballora would probably be the 'low budget' bonnie with 'baby' low budget chica
