The Joy of Creation Story Mode: Basement Trouble

I know this isn't a FNAF4 discussion but I'm desperate for answers. If anyone's played The Joy of Creation Story Mode, you know in the third Basement level, you have to run down a long hallway from the Forgotten endoskeleton. However, the endoskeleton is triggered too soon so I'm just inches from the door and never make it. It seems like my game is bugged or something. Anyone else have this problem and any solutions?

You must be constantly moving, and when you near the door, spam left click in order to open it as soon as possible. You don't need to touch it to use it.

I have been holding the W key the whole time and didn't stop or look back once. I can hear him coming when I walk past the second light to the door ahead. However anytime I've gotten close enough, I've click spammed the door but it's just barely shy of reaching and I die
