10.0: Preview
Kept you Waiting, huh?

I'm excited to announce that after a significant hiatus, I'm back with a new update! The Borderless Gaming 10.0 prerelease isn't just about adding new features - it's about stepping into the future. I've ported the entire project from the .NET Framework, which it was initially built on, to the streamlined, efficient .NET 8.

The significant changes you'll find in this release include:

- Updated Tech: The transition to .NET 8 ensures the software continues to run seamlessly on modern systems, giving Borderless Gaming a solid foundation for future enhancements and features.

- Improved Stability: I've focused on fixing various stability issues that have occasionally impacted users in the past, ensuring a smoother, more consistent gaming experience.

- Standalone Executable: No more dependencies! Borderless Gaming now operates as a standalone executable.

But this is just the beginning! I have plans for more features and improvements in the pipeline, including expanding Borderless Gaming to support macOS and Linux. This has been a long-requested feature and I'm delighted to be working towards making it a reality.

Please feel free to test out this prerelease and share your valuable feedback. Your input will be instrumental in shaping the future of Borderless Gaming. To try out the prerelease on Steam, opt-in to the beta:

Great timing.

I've been using it for a while now for games that just didn't support borderless and works great. Testing out the newest version with the "No Menu" option for some games so that I can play windowed without the Windows Title Bar and seems to cause the mouse input to be offset and not align to where I actually click with the mouse. Also do you think that you will ever add an option to let's say center the game or place it in certain positions of the screen as well?, I know there is the option to set your pixels to where you want to window to be but I had to basically take a photo of my entire screen and count out the pixels so that I can enter the correct number for the exact position of the window.

Otherwise great work and really enjoy the app.

Nice to see that the software is still being updated. I have tested the preview and everything is running stable. I noticed one small thing: When launching and using the software through the Steam integration after closing a maximized game, the Steam client window was sometimes also "maximized". If I use the standalone version everything works normally.

EDIT for more context: It was also "weirdly" maximized. Normally I use the steam-client fullscreen. When the bug occurs, the Windows icon in the top right also changed so that I can switch to full screen mode, telling me that I am no longer full screen. The full screen also looked different than the native one, a bit choppy at the top. Taskbar was btw still visible.

Yeah, very nice that you're still working on this. I am testing right now with Magic the Gathering Arena and it works very well. All the other tools out there have basically only half of your features. Magic the Gathering Arena is literally switching - i don't know if i am describing it right - three times the windows/resolution mode before entering a game. With every other tool i had to refresh so the configured resolution would be used. With your tool - your new Version 10! - this is done automatically.
Thank you very much and keep up the awesome work.
Regards!

Edit: After some testing i had to restart the app once in a while so that the game gets resized the right way ...

Edit2: Magic the Gathering Arena is 3 times changeing the "resolution/window id" prio to the actual gameplay. After a while "Borderless Gaming" is not intervening anymore, so you have to restart it ... after restart it "grabs" the app again and resizes it again in the proper way

I'm running 10.0.0 from Steam, have an issue where it sometimes crashes when I exit a game.

I wanted to see if I could fix the bug, I recognized the error (posted an issue on Github with logs), but the repo on github is still 9.5.6, and the zip/tar files available with the beta are also 9.5.6

You literally made my ultrawidescreen actually usable for 16:9 and 21:9 games. I can keep a browser open. Or taking 4K game sand shrinking them down to 1440p. Literally the best utility I have installed on Steam.

Is this version still actively developed?

Can you add resolution text in the middle of the rectangle when picking a location?

Been trying out the program for a while, and it's great and all but there is a big issue that kind of stops me from using it, if I turn or move my mouse a lot it ends up on the edge of the game Window and if I click it clicks out of the game which isn't ideal, game is Sea of Thieves, running x:400 y:0 at 2560x1440 on a ultrawide that natively does 3440x1440, not sure if this is a bug or expected?
