Scrap Mechanic

/export isn't working!
So, I have some things I want to save to my hard drive and put in another world. I run DEV mode, I put my crosshairs on the object (and even put it on the lift THEN put crosshairs on object), then type /export [filename, no spaces) -- annnnd -- nothing happens. I can /import all day long, but I can't /export. Any ideas what's up?

Did you check the blueprints folder? (The program files one not the %appdata% one.)

Hello, David. Thanks for chipping in.

My blueprints have not been showing up in their normal location, and based on what you said, I thought, "What if they are being stored somewhere different for some strange reason?" So I did did a new export the way I've always done (putting the mouse cursor on the creation, <enter> for chat, typed /export 00exportnotworking) then did a complete search of my programs86 folder and no luck.

That is odd. Are you in a custom game?

I read the game code. The /export saves your blueprints to the survival blueprints folder.

Not sure what you mean by "custom". I do have a small mod running. I'll revert to vanilla and see if that fixes the issue. (I doubt it -- I've exported with this mod operational before, but anything is worth the shot right now). I'll get back to you.

I hope it's nothing OS related, like all of a sudden, the game doesn't have permission to write to my HD (which i don't think is the case, my games are saving).

Man, thanks so much (both of you) or tying to help me figure this out. I have some stuff I really like and want to keep.

They're not there. The ones I exported months ago are there, but no new export seems to be there.

Restored to Vanilla, turned dev mode back on, no change, nothing is exporting.

in the SM game script, /export is not here. There is /import.

I've done so in the past. I have many files to prove it. Is there a mod I'm missing? Maybe the mod I used to use doesn't work anymore do to update? I'm incredibly confused right now because I've exported many times.

David, I *may* be getting closer, but I didn't go through all this song and dance last time. I just copied over a couple script files, and voila. Sooo, I found a mod to subscribe to that says something about "launch this custom game". Does that mean, launch with the mod selected? I launched with the mod selected, followed some instructions to get to some folder with a bunch of numbers, have DEV mode on, and STILL no luck!

Is this what they mean by "Launch this custom game"? Enter Creative with the mod selected?

Nevermind.

I found out on Reddit that they removed the feature.

Pisses me off enough that I'm considering uninstalling, never playing again, uninstalling RAFT and never purchasing another Axolot game again.

I had made things in Creative that I really wanted to put to use in Survival (making things is fun and all, but using them in Survival gave making them a fun objective rather than "Oh, look what I made, wow" and something to do with them other than driving around aimlessly on a dead map).

I am so very pissed right now.

No offense, but you despise the devs because the broken developer tools that you have to mod the game to even access don't fully work? Also you said export is broken, not import. For what you want, import is fine. All export does is save survival creations to the files for external use. If you use a custom game the lift is enabled so you can bypass this.

Ok. I'm very tired right now, so maybe I'm overreacting. Right now, I have to go to bed. the instructions on the "custom game" did not state to use the lift. I don't "despise" the developers, I was only irritated at that one thing. let me go into this creative thing and put my things on a lift rather than crosshairs and /export.
