Edible corn and drinkable water
"This is not the first time I've restarted the game, and I don't feel like fighting for food and water, so I'd like to make things easier for myself. That's why I thought it would be a good idea to make corn edible and the water in the barrel drinkable. Is there a simple way to do this?

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about programming, but I would be happy if someone could make it into a mod."

Dont know about mods but you can basicaly get on demand food and water from wocs when you feed them 3 corn pieces. otherwise you can also just have small farm thats not 10 points total (most vegies are 1 point each with potato being 1.5, fruits though are 2 points) so for simplest and easiest just do 9 beats since i think they had average high water and food.
personaly i just tend to have a ton of woc milk from feeding them corn in bulk then grow some carrots for myself to eat when food is low

Vegetables and milk are my basic food, but I tend to hoard things, e.g. corn, and it bothers me that I can't do anything with it, it's only good for feeding woc.
you do not have to fight for food and water. you need to grow less than 10 points of crop value and there will be NO raid.

tomato, carrot, beats = 1 each
potato, cotton = 1.5 each
orange, banana, blueberry = 2 each
broccoli, pineapple = 3 each.

you can grow total 9 plants of tomato, beat, or carrot with no raid. easy to survive.

While it is highly likely that the mythical Chapter 2 will have progression and balancing changes, the inability to eat corn or drink water is unlikely to ever change as they are both a difficulty measure to drive the player to farming rather than simply subsisting forever on what they can find infinitely in the world.

You might as well just turn off hunger and thirst as it is essentially the same outcome.
