vehicles do not steer at all
When trying to drive around on any kind of slope the vehicle just slides sideways down slop no matter how much I try to turn. Like the weeks get zero grip

You have to have multiple tires and some weight. Otherwise it is a slip in slide. Also depends on the type of motor you are using gas, electric, piston or bearing. Sometime you just have to learn to drift the vehicles.
As Phoenix Cat points out, the trick is plenty of ground contact and lots of weight. My best results come from using 12 large wheels on 3 axles and plenty of steel and concrete. Four wheel steering and a level 5 seat, so you can tune your steering geometry, will also help. Lastly, be sure to use suspension at each axle and tune it to maximize wheel to ground contact. The level 5 gas engine should be more than enough to power whatever you build. Hope that helps...
I tried to use a controller and bearing axle but is is very jerky. Fine for just driving around but not so good for stop and go like on a miner or logger.

I have noticed that rear wheel steering seems to work better than front wheel steering.
his game has tendency make your vehicle slide when ti's to heavy what I can tell there's no way to fix it
ok two votes for light vehicles slide and 1 vote for heavy vehicles slide.

now who is right

It's a balance act. The right weight in the right areas. So you can turn and not pop wheelies taking off, but yet having enough weight in the back to get traction without too much that it drags you down a hill. You will get the hang of it. It is all just playing around with it. You get all your materials back. So just experiment. I have also played around with rear wheel steering. It works great for like loggers and miners. Can turn quickly.
seems to me gas engines work best. the controller bearing drives are to jerky.
Bearing drives are fine for just driving around and sight seeing

I've had a lot of experience building them. Well since the game was released. They can be jerky at times. I have learned ways to help mitigate that. They are not for everyone though. Gas is usually the best. It is easy to make gas. Especially with the oil ponds now. Just a suction machine and a box and you got a whole lot of oil. Can even set up a refinery right there turning it into gas. So that is the best way to go over making batteries.
Once again I have to agree with Phoenix Cat. Though it is impossible to eliminate all of the slide without using downward thrusters you can certainly build highly maneuverable vehicles capable of climbing any hill on your map without thrusters. Yes, it will take some time and experimentation but it is definitely satisfying when you finally nail it. If it helps, there are screenshots under my profile showing what works for me. Cheers...
new observation is that when a vehicle is low to the ground it slides less and turns better. Top heavy builds just do not work so well.
And a very good observation it is. That's why lots of wheels help. It not only improves traction but applies the requisite weight close to the ground. Be sure to post a screenshot of your vehicle when it's done. I'd love to see what you come up with. Best of luck...
I do not remember the key for screen shot or where it gets stored

F12. Then Go into Steam and click on View at the top. Then Recordings and Screenshots and follow what it says. When you click the picture.
