Water pump - how do you get it suck oil up from the crater under sea? I am assuming it needs some sort of mechanism other than the pump and the small crate.

Components- apart from getting slapped around by the pitchfork bots - can you get these anywhere else?

Ranged weapon - what’s a recipe for like a spud or water gun or something

That is all you do need is a chest and a pump. The scrap chest doesn't work because it doesn't have a port though.

Oh and a switch to turn the pump on. Then make sure the arrow is point the way you want. You can pick up the chest and walk with it.

The geysers in the water respawn a lot faster than they used to but they still need to respawn to be collected by the pump. Set it and forget it and check it when ya need it.

Look for a group of geysers in close proximity to speed up the process.

Haybots are probably the best place to find components but you can find them in chests and the loot crates as well. Plus higher tier bots drop them too.

You have to progress through the story to unlock some recipes like guns. I alternated between the main quest and helping the farmers.

Perfect thanks so it needs a switch which now seems relatively obvious :). I have the contraption under water incl the chest hopefully that’ll work too!

One more Q - how’d you get the farmers out of the cages? I tried to slice it with my saw blade but no dice 🎲

First off, the desert areas have a chance to spawn oil pools which are way better for farming oil.

Secondly, you don't free the farmers. You take them to the hideout and suck them up like you do with the fruit crates. They are used as a currency at the trader.

Last Q - how you get fertiliser? I see in mechanic station some image with a Fish and a square that it seems to be eating. I can’t even find fish in the sea and not sure what to feed it if I ever find one.

Glow bugs, found on the bottom of the sea, they eat cardboard and poop out glow. Glow and water make fertilizer, but you don't get the recipe for bit, and from the main quest to help the farmers.

Nice one thanks I haven’t even seen them underwater. Haven’t seen cardboard either :/ It seems I’ll have to make the rest of my tomato’s for the 20 tomoto quest without fertiliser then, I think you start with like 12 or something.

i have functioning pumps connected to oil/water and chemical they suck up while i am near them but seem to stop when i am away doing other things in the world,i had set one up, it was sucking water up while i was looking at it, left came back a couple hours later and it only had the same amount of water in it that was there when i left, and it started sucking again as soon as i opened the chest to see how much was in it.
