I’d agree, just not in the way you probably intended. The player goes from melee only opponents to elites you only expect at the end of the game. The ‘skill issue’ here is that there is no way for the player to gain the skills to play against tape bots before being subjected to almost rocket tag. The developers seem to be aware if this, which is why they want to introduce weaker tape bots variants so that you can learn how they operate without excessive backtracking and healing items.
tapebots do 55 damage and can sometimes shoot immediately or misfire on death
that means 2 tapebots in a blindspot can instantly kill you when you enter a room, they also spawn naturally in autumn forests where they can come from every direction and be behind foliage cover
However... https://scrapmechanic.fandom.com/wiki/Tapebot
The fandom makes note at the Red tapebot, that it can appear in the wild when there are glitches with the world generation.
Anything with 5 or more durability is immune to tapebot fire. So metal 1 or better basically. Build a tank with that and you can just run them over.
Red tapebots need metal 3 instead and kill buttons and controllers even through that so you have to get creative. It's possible to build a tank that's explosion-proof though.
Can you do that in a warehouse? The tank will need to be small enough to fit the lift.
