Game Abandoned?

Just checking if this game has been fully abandoned at this point? I don't see any activity anywhere for now a whole year. I know its a risk to buy Early Access games tho this is a bad look on the whole dev team and publisher.

I see the `test_dev` branch is being updated, even 2 days ago. Tho as we can't see what is being changed it could be just random useless stuff. At the moment you can also see that the `public` branch has not been updated for 13 months, i feel they could at least show some sneak peak of what they're doing if its something thats been cooking for 13 months.

I mean it seems very much abandoned. I get that there are updates on SteamDB but to actual players it's been unchanged for over a year, and even the year before that was barely a handful of fixes. If there is someone still working on it, they aren't seemingly doing much of anything?

Would 100% avoid this until something happens which could be anywhere between 1-5000 years from now, give or take infinity.

Your either misread or misquoted me! i'll be a lot more accurate i guess. There has been nothing done regarding this game, no information, no changes, not even one of their devlogs stating "wouldnt this be fun?" in about 14 months. The previous year before that the only thing that happened was a devlog that stated "wouldnt it be cool if we put this in the game!" and displayed a few things that would be cool if they were in the game.

over a year with 0 interaction from the devs (literally nothing) is enough reason to think this is abandonware. It was abandoned a year ago is my claim that i backup by pointing out that nothing has been done at all in over a year. If you have a counterclaim then please share! i really would love to be wrong about this game being abandoneware.

except that a game in early access can not really be considered "released" unless you want to see how fast that slippery slope can go, in that case, try to get it normalized asap.

People would likely to be more forgiving with Axolot if they were more vocal with the players, instead of being radio silent for 90% of the time and leaving us with no idea what is going on.
That's why alot of players are really irritated with Axolot.
Rising World is 10 years old yet the developer Red is always talking to the players so they know what's going on.

I got no problem with my grip, i just enjoy(ed) the game and am bothered by the state of it. Generally this ain't the way of doing things, even tho the game is in early access.

My life is fine ty for asking, this is a discussion not a rap or insult battle, if you can add anything usable to the discussion and not just try to shut it down.

Well the devs stopped posting any updates of current development, people still play the game. So technically it's sorta abandoned, however. If everyone stopped playing the game, then it's completely abandoned.

So they finally made an update, it's not chapter 2, but at least better physics and netcode are a thing now. Chapter 2 i still expect to take years.
Still want them to be more vocal with the community so we know what's going on.

well if anybody were to actually try developing something for once they'd understand how slow these things can be: with a small team, on such a complex game and engine
