Doors and multiple switches
Tried to make an indoor switch and outdoor switch for the same door, but couldn't connect them to the same controller. Do I need a separate bearing and controller for one of them?

As far as I know you can only connect one switch per controller. But you should be able to use the switch on one site and place a seat on the other side of the door.
When you connect the seat to the switch you can control the door from both sides.

I've no idea why the devs don't let you connect mutiple switches..

I hadn't considered the seat solution on one side. For me, that will work. Thanks! I did see a solution by player "A Fat Chimp" who used small blocks on bearings which triggered sensors which were then connected to controllers -- it worked. He's a genius - but what a hot mess! Who wants to make that outside or inside a structure or vehicle?!

yes, again this is a hot mess. way too much work (and wasteful blocks) just to open a door. *sigh*

I agree. There are some workarounds like the chair or using the other method i posted but it's alot off unnecesary extra work.

Why does everyone make this into a more complicated thing than it actually is? At first I thought it was because people liked playing with logic gates. I mean I do this too a lot because they are fun to build.
But for new players?
Why not just make a simple double bearing?
... I should make my own youtube vid on it.

If you can open it from inside in a simple way it's better, but i found this vid and seems to be the easiest way if you don't want to open doors with a chair. It's not that complicated either.

I've done one with buttons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Oh4cn98bWI It's not that hard tbh.

Make an OR gate and you will be able to connect multiple inputs to a controller. It's not a direct connection, but works.

I do it for the fun lol. No way I would do it just to open up a door casually.

It looks like it's more job than it has to be tbh.

If you know a simpler way with buttons, let me know ;) In all honesty, there's no way I would use that just to casually open up a door, that's just fun for me to play around with.

Erm.. That works only with a switch, not with a button.

Well here ya go. No logic gate needed.
2 Bearings, 2 controllers, 2 switches, 1 door. Simple.

(might take a few mins for youtube to finish processing the different quality settings)
