1) The ability to hide connection lines for specific items. Ever make a contraption that uses 8 controllers and 64 bearings? PURPLE LINES.
2) Mapping specific keys to switches/buttons instead of them autobinding to the hotbar when connecting them to a seat.
3) The ability to invert the output of button and sensors (ie. being able to have buttons/sensors as momentary off instead of momentary on).
4) Instead of 3, add logic gates. Size could depend on complexity of the logic (eg. a not gate could be a single block, but a RS latch would be, say, 2x2x2)
4) Some way of displaying a creations center of mass.
5) Individual bind points matching the WASD for driver's seat. So you can bind those keys to specific engines/thrusters/etc.
6) The ability to bind multiple controllers to bearings.
7) Either the ability to have multiple lifts, or another block that acts like a lift that you could use to store builds "up on blocks", so they're in the same inert state as they are on a lift. This would go a long way to helping with memory leaks and frame rate loss due to having many bearing in your world, as they seem to use significantly less resources when they are up on the lift.
+1 for gears and belts/chains.
6. I also would like a block the gears could "lock" into to allow for making tracks - like a T shaped block that the gears could catch the line of the T and roll along a row of.
7. The ability to have the steering wheel turn a bearing in a full circle instead of the 13 or 30 degrees it currently does. Not that I'm looking for a rack and pinion steering system or anything ;)
2. some kind of slippery block (for making things like sleds)
(dont have the game, but planning on getting it)
Making our own clockworks would be awesome!!
Another mentioned chains and pulleys and rope, I understand they'd be harder but I also plus that!
2.smaller suspension pieces would be nice. Like a block only. maybe call them dampeners?
I even have an idea on how you could model it and make it look nice. Model them after hydralic airbags. Ill put a reference link down here.

They are used for making cars bounce, as far as im aware.. so its not too far out i would say :)
3 I know the lift is a thing, but i would really love a float/hover mechanic. godmode, whatever you wanna call it for creative. A keybind , not a console command please! ;)
4. Very important to be able to rotate objects on the lift/before placing the lift with an object on it.
5. I would really love more round objects, , if you know what i mean! you can already get some round corners here and there.... but maybe add ''Bodyparts/body panels'' that you can put on top of beams, etc to round them out. Or if you wanted to shape a car that looks a bit less blocky. You get the drift.
6. We definetly need some standard ''cockpits'' aswell that you can build around. Like car cockpit, plane cockpit, etc. Not the actual base of the car. Just an actual cockpit, with the seat in it (maybe a door) instead of just placing a seat there and buildng blocks around it.
7. Coloring blocks. Of course the believeables , like metal alloys and painted wood.. not colored concrete!
8. Pivot points! a real pivot point.
9.Being able to rebind 1,2,3,4 to ASWD as an example. so you can build more complicated stuff, with easier controls than now.
10. Copy/Paste tool that is flexible. (like if i want to copy just the suspension part of my car, i can do that and paste to the 3 other places it needs wheels.. etc)
11. Maybe make a feature where you guys bind + (next to 0) to a 2nd hotbar. That way you can cram even more stuff in there and spend less time in the inventory looking for stuff.
Hit + and poof, new hotbar for you to fill/re-arrange. (and then you can switch between 1&2 of course). Just make sure you can flip them while in the inventory. I think this would help hardcore people who built really intricate stuff move along a little faster. This would also serve to streamline survival a bit more. I.E spending less time in the inventory. That way youll have room for all the importants.
or guns in hotbar 1, survival stuff in hotbar 2, of course wichever way you prefer.. so on and so forth.
Will probably add more stuff. or make a new post with more in the future :)
It's super frustrating to block out a vehicle and then realize you want to swivel an entire section. If you make a Bearing and try to connect a piece with a bridge, the game wants to keep it separate, which I understand, but that results in entire pieces falling to the ground which then have to be completely rebuilt (and therefore the entire craft). You could plan 100% of everything ahead of time, but that's not realistic, and hampers creative iteration.
I'd also love it if i could select on-ofs from the inventory menu and then also have my usual binds. Again Infinifactory is a great reference point for this.
By no means am I saying the aforementioned games are better or worse, they just have few UI features that go a long way.
Keep making awesome :)
PS - I wish buttons didn't have a cap of 5, i'd love 8 or 16. Controllers could go to 16 as well. I'm making a fairly elaborate vehicle and I have to use 6 buttons just to turn all my rockets on and align them after spin up. (4 buttons x 4 rockets plus 2 controllers/buttons x 8 bearings rotating 30 degrees)
