Can you bind Controller sequences to a keyboard key?
Hi

In a previous vehicle I made I connected the steering wheel to the Controller and pressing 1 made sequence 1 play as far as I know.

However when I just tried it again it didn't work. But this time I had 8 things connected and it was a bit more complex.

So now I'm wondering... Did I imagine it working last time because I was so tired? Or is it actually supposed to work and did it just bug out a little? Because I can't get it to work again. Or are there other things to keep in mind?

Thanks in advance :)

Double check the hand book but I think that's how it should work....
Though I can't confirm 100% because I've yet to try myself.

I didn't see it in the handbook. The info about Controllers was really basic. Pretty much just how to connect it and how to connect a button and that's about it.

When you use a controller it players through all the sequences 1 after another and if you choose loop it then keeps playing the whole sequence again and again.

If you have it NOT set to loop and you flick the switch on the sequence starts. If you flip it again it reverses back through the sequence. Hope this helps mate!

Yes, any button or switch connected to a controller and the steering wheel will show up in your hotbar in the order that you connected them. Also, you can skip all the way to numbers 7,8,9 and 0 to use your right and left hand to drive by making 6 buttons that connect to only the steering wheel first and nothing else, basically making them blank. Left hand on W,A,S, and D and right on 7,8,9 and 0! Now if only I had a 3rd hand for the mouse too.

I see what part of the problem was.

I used the first circle thingies to set a Starting Position. If you do so you can't bind them anymore. Edit: This seems to be incorrect, now it does work. Game is just buggy I suppose.

So I removed the starting position from the first 2 and put them on the second circle thingy.
Now if I press W it does what I want.
However I don't want it to do it when I press W, I want it to do it when I press 1.

I can't find anywhere to set it though... Can somebody explain? I'm royally confused.

I know you said something about binding keys, Jimdaman, but I can't really follow you

Ok um easiest way to explain what i meant is like this.. put a thruster on something. Put a button down anywhere on that same structure. Attach the button to the steering wheel and thruster. When you get in the seat, the button should be #1 in your hotbar. Same works with a button connected to a controller going to say a couple of bearings that will lift 2 seperate arms. Attach the buttons to the controller and your steering wheel and they will show up in your hotbar when you get in the seat.

Edit* You must also attach the controller to the bearings you want to use as well as the button and steering wheel. It sounds way more confusing than it is.
