Big tires use up a lot more fuel
I changed out my smaller truck tires with the big ones and wow. Fuel is sucked up like crazy.
I am thinking about putting the smaller tires back to save fuel. What do you guys think?

Also will upgrading the engine save fuel?

Engine level two and four wheeled drive.

i havent noticed if large wheels changes much, but upgrading your engine does increase efficiency and connections. theoretically large wheels should give higher fuel efficiency because (last i checked) large wheels weigh less than the large ones. i have found two wheel drive to be more efficient than 4, but not by much so i use all wheel drive mostly.

Was reading that the engine upgrades effectively increase fuel efficiency by 50% per level, so by lvl 5 its 250% 500% more efficient

50% more efficient than the base level or from the previous tier? if its 50% from the base level then it would be 250% increase. however, if you multiply the efficiency by an additional half PER level you get an efficiency just over 500% at level 5.

which one?

excellent, this shows that each level adds 50% more efficiency to the previous level, resulting in a 500% increase overall at level 5. level 5 engine is quite good.

Thanks guys.

I also found that the swapping from large tyres to small tyres was one of the best increases in fuel economy, ive switched back to small tyres on any vehicle that can get away with it, im running level 5 and 4 engines

Tyre size has a large impact on vehicle economy and speed, it gets a lot more sluggish. However, it also becomes a lot more capable, so it is a trade-off. I think a tier-5 engine is something of a requirement to using large tyres though.

I think I'll make the next iteration of my scrap car based on the APC in Aliens. :)

Let me give you a tip (i did this and it was the best thing i could have done)
I built a bearing engine, you connect lvl. 5 controllers to as much bearings as you can (these bearings would be a part of the drive shaft) and then connect the controllers directly to the seat.
W will make the bearing go forward making the car go forward, and S would make the bearing go backwards making the car reverse.
(*oh, youll have to do some tweaking with the speeds and stuff but youll eventually have it just right, mine kept doing wheelys hahahah*)
You wont have to worry about fuel ever again!
And if youre wondering if the bearing engine can push a car up a hill, YES, with a bearing engine you can even have packed vegetables on your vehicle!

(*if you need just watch youtube videos so you dont make mistakes and end up with a messed up engine that doesnt really work hahahah*)
