Multiplayer survival lag and disconnects

Hi, My wife and I have been trying to play survival together. Since the recent update, the game has been close to unplayable, with my wife experiencing a lot of lag and then being kicked out every 5 - 10 mins. Anyone else having these problems or know of a fix other than the full water pump one that I've read about?

It does this on a fresh world so the water pump is not the issue.

Both machines are recent i7 with 32gb ram, one has a 1080 the other a 1070, both connected to the same switch via 1gps lan, with 65 down/14 up internet.

Any ideas? We have no issues with the likes of space engineers or even intensive multiplayer shooters like quake champions.

The game is not well made for example if you make to many connection the game is not well optimize for huge structures needing a lot of "bearing" you could also turn off Shadows and Reflection that seem to aliviate some lag . other than that is "game" optimize so its not your computer.

its a peer to peer connection... the host is sending al the info to the client... maby slow connection? and yeah the game is really really bad optimized... its beta..
