Steering Question
My 11 y/o just got hooked on the game and my first impression was the steering needs to get better. Did he miss something in his builds or is the current state of the steering in early access? Here's his first video with the steering issues. Any help/suggestions would be great.

The wheels are too close to the chassis, the wheels you are tring to turn are being blocked by it, build them out with a table leg or something.

Also I didnt watch the full video but make sure you are using pivots to make them turn

Check out the " Axiom Car" on youtube its a great build for a stable a high turn radius vehicle, and might give you some great ideas for future builds! And like GameHawke said you gotta make sure your wheels have room to pivot or the steering will will suffer.

Looking at the info available while the Connect Tool is being used, I don't see any bearings set up to actually allow you to turn. All of the wheels currently being used are just forward/backwards.

What you want to do is, on the underside of the vehicle, place a bearing that faces the ground, then add some blocks to that, then another bearing on the side of those blocks.
Effectively, a wheel that is designed for turning, should use 2 bearings - the usual forwards/backwards, and another for left/right rotation.
Wire the driver seat directly into the left/right bearings (Not via the engine) and you should be all set.
Make sure when you set up the wheels to turn left/right, the wheels and the blocks they are on have sufficient room to move without clipping into other bodywork.

I made a lot of vehicle building tutorials. I hope they are of use to you.

Video 10 in the list is a nice one to drive, it crawls over rocks and it's also a pretty quick build. Further down they get a bit more complex.

Yup, what he said ^

It's all in the handbook too, so get your lad to look in the handbook again, once he figures it out he'll find it a piece of cake.
