Torrent or crack so I can play the game I Payed for?
Hello people from the steam community. I love scrap mechanic and I often have times at school where I have nothing to do for half an hour or sometimes up to two hours. But sadly school has blocked Steam. I can still enter Steam in offline mode though. But when I want to start scrap mechanic I can't because it needs an internet connection. I bought the game. I payed for it so I could play it, but I can't always play it. When I'm on vacation and I have no internet I want to be able to play it.

Now, here's my question: Does anyone know a way to modify the files or torrent an offline working version so that I can enjoy the game I PAYED for?

Hm, worrying. Nowhere did the store page list the need for internet to simply play offline, is it the horrendous kind where the game crashes if internet goes down or the intolerable version where it needs internet to boot up? Because if it's always-online DRM, then that is utterly atrocious, deceptive, and not explained well enough to the customers before they bought the game.

Though being hopeful, i'd imagine the need for internet get dummied out eventually (for singleplayer), if not then that would be a INCREDIBILY bad way to treat your customers.
I dont want to run the risk of not being able to play the game just because my internet's down, heck, i might want to play it BECUASE it's down. Despite the fact that internet downtime is very rare in modern countries (doubt you can call the US a modern country in that regard, oh the internet horror stories and terrible ISP's they've got)...

What little it mentions at the 'network' section of system requirements really isn't enough information. But i'm starting to ramble anyway... If the game relies on internet to run i would assume you can't just change some files and get it to work, it sounds like something that would require alot of work from the developer before it runs fine offline. Maybe the internet requirement is some kind of placeholder system to make the current gameplay run as it does.

I've just tested it after turning off my wifi and it gave me an error that the user should be logged on. The why is there "singleplayer" in the game description if there is no offline singleplayer. How do you even concider that working singleplayer seriously? I really hope that the devs get this fixed asap. This game doesn't worth as much as it costs even without this bug. In case this is not a bug but a feature then why didn't they mention it in the requirements for running the game? BTW this is probably not the best place to be searching for cracks of games but in this case I think it actually is appropriate.

You can find torrents via google. Even mentioning torrents is disrespectful to the devs, imo. Sure wouldn't be nice to post them.

I wouldn't recommend trying to modify your steam version of the game, since future updates could break those modifications. Only issue by having two versions is that you'll have to frequently re-download future versions for your torrented copy if you want to ensure gamesave compatibility with your steam copy.

So is forcing online connection to play the game. Think about the people who travel or military. They cannot play games on their down time...

I hardly ever torrent things. Sometimes to test a game, but with the return policy of Steam now there is no need for that anymore. Anyways forcing people to have an internet connection when booting up the game is seriously disrespectful to the consumers. This, along with the terrible code for the physics is enough reason to be slightly disrespectful to them. Maybe they'll realise they've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. I really love the concept of the game, and it has a lot of potential. The game is fun in its current state as early access, but they need to fix and add a lot for it to become an awesome final release. And I'm very worried they can deliver that. Especially when they don't even allow people to start the game without internet acces.

Well, that was enough ranting for today :)
