Remote 'Kill-switch' and locator for powered objects
I did a quick search of 'remote', and it gave me three topics, one about remote disabling of a runaway vehicle, another on remote cars, and the massive pinned topic of suggested ideas.

The first topic was actually close to what I was looking for, but I didn't want to repurposed someone else's question thread into a suggestion thread. I would go to the pinned thread on suggested features, but it is so huge and unorganized, it is hard to find the specific post about it via Steam's search feature (unless I'm doing it wrong, or it is less helpful in the mobile version).

Anyway,
Kill-Switch Remote
As lul-tastic it is to see someone else yell at their runaway machine on multiplayer or YouTube, it personally isn't fun for the builder themselves after a short while. They want to build things, and not spend an absurd amount of time chasing down what they made. There still will be chases, but this should keep them from being too tedious and time consuming.

To keep things simple, a new player tool could be made to remotely turn off the power to one powered machine, preferably the one they are working and focusing on.

It would come in two parts.
  1. A placeable remote actuator, which game-code wise is just a visual marker to show what powered objects are connected.
  2. A hand held remote, with one big red button, and the ability to point to near by engines, thrusters, and maybe controllers, so you can add or remove actuators on your machine.
The actuators should be small, but easy to spot (with blinking lights on it?), and the remote be simple to use. At anytime you need to stop your machine, you break out the remote and press the big red button to shut it down. The shutdown state will be removed when back in the driver's seat (a seat connected to the shut down power sources), when the machine is put back up on the lift, or with another press of the button (likely with a red light showing if it is active or not).

High powered or energetic machines maybe out of visual range before a person can react and shut down the runaway machine. So for cases like that, the remote should have a direction indicator that will active once the button is pressed. The actuator devices could even make ping sounds and have a bright flashing light on it to help with locating the machine if for some reason there is still something obstructing the machine from view dispute being close to it.

Sorry if this is a repeat idea, but hopefully having it in it's own thread should help in locating it, assuming people even use the search feature. 😓

Post what you guys think, and maybe the location of where this has been mentioned before, since I'm pretty sure this has come up more than once already.

I know I really could have used this last night, as I messed up on leaving my attempt at a hovercraft, and watched it slide out of sight across the landscape, lagging my computer with its antics.
