Does metal ore respawn?
Does it run out eventually or does it reaspawn like corn?

Yeah, haybots to be specific. Not to worry though. I have 4,500 hours in my survival world and have consumed roughly 5% of the trees, 35% of the minerals and 50% of the ember so It's unlikely you'll ever run out of anything. Cheers...

Afraid not. Mining nodes, trees and ember will not re-spawn.

So it sounds like robots are the only renewable source of metal. But once the trees and ember run out that's it. Hopefully that wont be for a while, thanks. :steamthumbsup:

Or you can make your base mobile and harvest on the road.

That's what I plan on doing though the grind is going to be a while...

That is reassuring but good grief what kind of base do you you have after all of that time?

@Broken toy

Do you have proof of those hours by chance?

Still pretty eerie knowing that your resources will eventually run out eventually even if it's a long time. Like in real life...

Hey Jeliminator1000,

Not sure what you would consider proof but the game tells me I have 4'532.5 hours of playtime when selected. Under my profile it says 4'533 hours. My profile is set to public but I'm not sure if visitors can see that level of detail or not. I do have close to 200 public screenshots showing many of my bases, outposts, vehicles and machines. This won't verify hours, but the scale of the build should tell you I've been playing this game a long, long time.
Anyway, it sounds like you're just starting out yourself so I hope you enjoy the game as much as I have. It's a steep learning curve but oh so satisfying once you get the hang of things.
Best of luck...

Curious about the size myself I had placed beacons at the four corners of my survival map and can confirm it to be a 48 square kilometre rectangle. 8 km x 6 km or 10 km corner to corner.

um... are you assuming that a tile is a kilometer? I'm confused how you got that conclusion...
