When the game is ready for it.

There barely is any original content in the game yet, let alone anything to build downloadable content off of. :steamfacepalm:

You are basically asking for a sequel to a movie while the first movie is still in the early days of production and filming.

Are you that caught up with the money making gimmick of DLC that you need it for every game you have?

let them finish the game first, considering the fate of many other early access titles that alone will be a small victory.

DLC is a scam. It is just cutting content so you can sell it.

Talking about DLC while the game is still being created. What kind of monster are you?

As for the lag, they're working on it. Read the Dev Blogs.

The multiplayer is handled peer-to-peer. There are no "servers" that you connect to currently. You are playing off the connection to the other people in your world(or their world, depends on who is hosting the world).

Update = DLC.

DLC is content sold to add content to a game. It is how it is used.

lol If that somehow happens, I'm reporting someone for fails advertisement and/or some kind of business practice violation.

LOL DLC Just means downloadable content. Whether it's free, paid, a level, a model, an update, 2 mb, or 30 gb... it's still DLC unless you recieved it via disk :P

..Even workshop items are dlc.

DLC as he described is not regular updates but paid/free content that is seperate from the game.

Yeah.. While DLC is literally content that is downloaded, it has an implied meaning of something more specific when used in the context of the videogame market. Tsukiya's stated definition is what the common usage of DownLoadable Content actually means, and no amount of silly word pay is going to change that.

That is just the name. It is marketing thing. DLC refres to anything that is sold to add content to a game most. It is all about how the word is used or phrase is used.

Look, I know what it means, and really I'm just goofing with you. But DLCs are not always paid content and at times do include updated info contained within.
ex; the additional ending stuff to mass effect was free (never released on disk :( ), it also added multiple new parts during the campaign if such paths were chosen.
Would this be a DLC or an update ? As it is not manditory to have this for anythingelse within that game dlc library to work, but is important info for the main campaign to be more complete.. :D

DLC is always paid content. Updates with content in them existed before DLC was coined. It how ever is not to be confused with exapasion packs which are half sequels.

Can we just drop this?

The evidence on if DLC requires payment or not is on the store pages, a doesn't anymore thought than that to figure out.

The whole point is words have meaning for a reason. This is a simple some one misspoke or listen to someone else that was wrong and now doesn't want to say there are wrong. DLC is always paid for. There is no such thing as free dlc. DLC was invented to sell content. There will never be free DLC. Saying free DLC just implies that it should cost you money but it doesn't this time. Don't be a sheep.
