By default this error occurs if there is insufficient memory available and/or a runtime error occurs (and wise versa)....
good luck buddy ;)
After opting in and out of the beta several times, I still get an array of errors I never used to get before.
It has to be runtime errors, some kind of artificial RAM limit, or memory leaks, because after clearing out a bunch of 'standby memory', Scrap Mechanic still pushes RAM usage to 4 Gig (out of 8 gig available), before doing one of several errors. (which is the TEMP fold error, dump file error, crash to bug splat, or freezes and is unresponsive)
The dump file creation error is easily repeatable by placing down the lift right after loading a map, even on a new flat terrain map. I actually have to wait a while (risky, since it could freeze from that) or place blocks down before placing the lift on it. Attempting to load anything to the Workshop (assuming one passes the gauntlet of crash potentials) has a chance to cause either a bug splat report or dump file creation error.
The beta has been a real pain, and after finding out that I can't get anything usable up on Workshop, I just opted out and cleaned up and reverted my save files.
(Thanks Axolot for auto back-up on converted save files!
gn8 buddy / scrap mechanics
also i ran a test an scrap mechanic barely uses 4gb of ram
well I didn't played that mess of code lately but back then memory leaks were a big problem especially then when they tried to take a memory snapshot (dump file) without enough memory available xD
not by disabling them one by one! disable all of'em and load'em on by one; randomly do whatever you do; & if it crashes then you've found the reason why
~ cheers & good luck!
