Failed to create dump file
I think this is important, but I'm not sure.

Right now, most of the time when I place a lift in the beta version for the Workshop update, it crashes, and says Failed to create dump file: "(error -2147024865

Is that the bug splat reporting program having an issue trying to make the bug report data file? If so, how do you get around this, since obviously that would be needed by the Dev team to know what is going wrong.

Did you installed a mod before opted-in the workshop beta? if so, opt-out the workshop test, verify the games integrity or reinstall it, then opt-in again...

By default this error occurs if there is insufficient memory available and/or a runtime error occurs (and wise versa)....

good luck buddy ;)
I actually uninstalled the one mod (the 'truck engine' mod) before opting into the beta, and soon after verified the files; with unsurprisingly one file being corrected since the mod had an uninstall for an older version.

After opting in and out of the beta several times, I still get an array of errors I never used to get before.

It has to be runtime errors, some kind of artificial RAM limit, or memory leaks, because after clearing out a bunch of 'standby memory', Scrap Mechanic still pushes RAM usage to 4 Gig (out of 8 gig available), before doing one of several errors. (which is the TEMP fold error, dump file error, crash to bug splat, or freezes and is unresponsive)

The dump file creation error is easily repeatable by placing down the lift right after loading a map, even on a new flat terrain map. I actually have to wait a while (risky, since it could freeze from that) or place blocks down before placing the lift on it. Attempting to load anything to the Workshop (assuming one passes the gauntlet of crash potentials) has a chance to cause either a bug splat report or dump file creation error.

The beta has been a real pain, and after finding out that I can't get anything usable up on Workshop, I just opted out and cleaned up and reverted my save files.
(Thanks Axolot for auto back-up on converted save files! :steamhappy:)

hmmmm that's really weird and I'd like to learn more about and/or try to help you but right now I'm just tooo tired... could you if it's possible upload or post any additional info/error descriptions/log files here or on a file sharing server you prefer? I'd love to take a look at...

a dump file is just a snapshot to show the devs whats going on so they can fix it so you have other issues

also i ran a test an scrap mechanic barely uses 4gb of ram

well I didn't played that mess of code lately but back then memory leaks were a big problem especially then when they tried to take a memory snapshot (dump file) without enough memory available xD
When I have a ton a mods loaded and just start playing when I just randomly do whatever I do it just crashes and says failed to create dump file error 2147034865 I need help I love dem mods doe

Try to find out which one of the mods is causing this problem.
not by disabling them one by one! disable all of'em and load'em on by one; randomly do whatever you do; & if it crashes then you've found the reason why :2017stickycrab: ;)

~ cheers & good luck!
