In this case, the single player is really the main part of the game at the moment- the multiplayer is a more recent addition I think. It wouldn't really make much business sense to hand out such a big part of your game for free. With regards to Minecraft, I had always been under the impression you paid for the entire game, both single- and multi- player.

No, with Minecraft, you're paying 26.95 NOT for the game, but for a premium account.

Just looked it up- it says there's a time limited demo, but that's not really the same thing.

Above it there is a DOWNLOAD section, where there's no blocker saying you need to pay for it. Minecraft is 99.9% free for PC

so the free version of MC is no longer supported/updated.

Hmmm. maybe so. I haven't played the free version in a while so, thanks for the update. I'd love to see this one maybe have a f2p single player version After early access.
