I had the issue with crashing the game with too many blueprints cuz I somehow spammed ctrl v while ediditing blueprints, but after deleting them, it worked fine... Idk where the BS can come from

By recent update do you mean 0.3.5?

A blue screen is caused by a bug in windows, or a bug in a driver, or a hardware fault.
A game can trigger a BSOD on a faulty system, but the game is not to blame.

Sometimes the latest graphics driver can introduce a new bug that only affects 1 or 2 games on a specific GPU model, so if it started when you updated graphics drivers then an older driver might work better.

Is your PC overclocked?

No my pc is not overclocked

The game can indeed cause a blue screen of death. Considering I have been playing multiple survival and shooter games without a BSOD for a few years, this is the only game i have experienced a BSOD. Could be a memory leak, could be a bad call to save/load data from the database and the system BSODs to protect itself. Unfortunately, at this time, i will stop playing because i dont need my computer shutting down like this and restarting. I put in around 20+ hours before the last patch without issues. It is likely something with the recent patch.

Update: Read another post about issues after patches. Decided to uninstall and reinstall and so far have not encountered the BSOD issue. Guess their patching leaves much to be desired but at least i found a resolution.

You are bumping a thread from early 2019 buddy, not to mention i've seen no claims of bluescreens recently besides yours, its prolly more likely that theres actually an issue with your PC, as there clearly was for the original topic starter aswell.

I'd strongly suggest:
- Get some software to monitor your system temp's (cpu & gpu temperature)
- Keep an eye on those while playing, its very likely that after a while stuff gets too hot, while it might not look like it on the surface scrap mechanic is pretty demanding game
- If it is a temperature issue then you should clean dust out of your computer case
- If its not a temperature issue you should look for some proper diagnostics software to figure out whats actually wrong with your system.

I also got several Bluescreens playing Scrap Mechanic today (bought it today and played with a friend in MP).
I normally don't have bluscreens and play a lot of other games, so clearly the game causes them.
I also had some crashes to desktop, mostly when someone died and tried to respawn. (about 50% of the cases).
Two times, when we started to run back to our base.
Possybly it has something to do with reloading already known regions?

Don't tell me anything about thermal problems, thats not the problem here.

Update:
Tried about a thousand things to fix the problems and for 1 day it seemed to run stable.
Today the problems began again. The last crash ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my pc to the point that I had to go back to my latest system restore point to fix it.
I'm done with this game.

I am running scrap mechanic on two different computers at the same time (me and my son play it). It's caused blue screens to happen on both. Those two computers have never blue screened on anything else and continue to not blue screen while playing anything else. It's the game, saying people are not having problems because it isn't effecting you is the hight of arrogance. Did you know eve online once patched their game which then proceeded to format peoples PC's? Sometimes a bit of software can do weird things to windows and a computer.

I studied computer animnation at university which included a good deal of programming. From experience I can tell you, you can bluescreen a computer with a bit of bad code. So the games obviously handling something wrong somewhere.

Maybe it's some kind of memory leak related issue, a common culprit across all of the games.

Also, it might be some other kind of I/O issue, as SM constantly dumps changes to SSD/HDD

I can get the BSOD everytime in survival by starting the game, loading into a survival world(even brand new world) and the alt tab out and leave the game on the taskbar.
In less than 5 minutes the PC bsod.
I dont get bsod while playing, but if I alt tab out, leave game running in background it bsod everytime.
