is the game finished?

i haven't played in a long time, but also haven't seen any updated to the game in ages. is it just unofficially understood that the game is abandoned now?

it's not abandoned, the devs are working on a massive update

I suggest reading the announcements section on steam and the developer twitter... they will provide clues as to the status of the game.

never accept anything you hear unless it is from a trusted source like the developers the idgets in forums like to spread untruths about the games they don't want any one to play... and yes chapter 2 is scheduled to be released this year go read the notes

i recall an update which would include caves and some little bots. this was a year ago or more it was announced. not a massive update, but a massive time for a medium update. i think the only thing they ever updated since the survival was changing my water ponds into oil. (a rather unimaginative way of solving the oil crisis. 'here! just pump it out of never ending wells which used to be water! why all that swimming around before???) and they added a beacon which i didn't need. love the game, despite my 3 moving parts malfunctioning all the time. but it's like watching an oak grow. perhaps my children will be able to see the fruition of whatever they are working on this week.

Devblog 22 came out september 21, not more than a year ago.
And the last bigger update was the 5.0 creative mode update from march 21.
