Don't get the spud shotgun.
I spent about an hour growing broccoli for the spud shotgun, but when I got it, I was disappointed.

Spudguns are supposed to be ranged weapons, not melee weapons.

The two potatoes it fires go around the target, not to the middle.

Meaning you have to get close to the target to fire and both hit it, otherwise you could lose potatoes.

Don't spend an hour growing broccoli like I did.:steamfacepalm:

GET THE SPUD SHOTGUN. it is by far the best weapon to fight haybots while looting ruins. HANDS DOWN. kill a hay bot in 2 shots instead of 5 that is actually 20% less spud usage. great fo defending a small farm also. the regular (rifle) spudgun is best in the warehouse against tapebots or defending a large farm from tapebots. the only time i would use the gattler is if i was fighting big red alone.

Spud Shotgun is great for Haybots and Totebots. Ditto to what sandwichlizard said.

I actually think the opposite. Bc they're so small they're hard to hit from a distance, the regular spudgun is better on them.

It sounds like you wanted the shotgun... Then complained when you learned it behaves like a shotgun.
Yes, shotguns aren't effective at range, they're not supposed to be.

You know NOTHING about shotguns.

depends on the load really

realistic or not, movies and video games have associated shot guns with shorter range higher power.

It's video game logic.
If VG shotguns were effective at range they'd just make other weapons obsolete.

100% get the shotgun
That and spud gun are all you need.
You can forget the spudling gun tho thats just ass.

How about this. Don't get the spud shotgun if you want a ranged weapon.

the only down side is you use 2 potatoes per shot. if you want long range, use the rifle. if you want rapid fire, use the spudling gun. if you want tight situation cround control, use the shotgun.
