What Are Bots For?

So I keep contemplating the question of what the original purpose for every bot was, here’s a chart that I made:

Haybot in wilderness? Nope, it’s a HAYbot-there aren’t even any barns that store hay! There isn’t even a hay block!

Totebot in wilderness? I have no idea! What is a Totebot even for!? Security?

Red Totebots? What is the use of a robot with explosives on it’s head? Mining?

Tapebot in warehouse? Nope! The warehouses store food, appliances and parts! There is nothing that Tapebots could tape before they went haywire!

Farmbot in water treatment plant? Nope! In a city of scrap (Scrap City)? Nope! Wilderness? Nope!

Trash Bot on top of warehouse? Is it some sort of cleaner or something?

Please tell me the use of these bots before they went crazy!

Haybots literally put hay in these tower ruins, it would make sense that they've gone to: "Go crazy, go stupid, go crazy" mood.

Aside from their unusual weapon, they're also the only bot that has a colour variant that is /just/ a palette swap - Totebots (Will) differ in appearance of their heads, and presumably vary in exactly how they attack. Tapebots on the other hand are comparatively lazy in their implementation. Suggesting to me that they will be replaced by an entirely new model later in development.

This is actually wrong.

Red tapebots have a new texture now in the beta so scrap this comment.

The tapebots have been modified by themselves seeming by how similar they look like. They also said they shoot fire crackers but that will be changed later
