erh, yes there is. its under 'gameplay' in the options menu along with the physics quality slider
ive thought the same thing, but apparently players struggle with tapebots and i see constant messages of 'tApeBOts aRE tOo OP' so the devs introduced this option so it doesnt affect everyone, theres a choice. which is nice
like you, id rather they buff all the bots or again to make the majority happy have a hard mode option, so players who want more of a challenge, can
They would be better fixed by introducing some food that gives health boost, or something similar
The changes i would make if i could
(1) Slower moving tape rounds so it can be evaded
(2) Some weapon inaccuracy so stuff like medieval arrowslits are viable early game
As it stands tapebots are the only thing in this game that's even remotely challenging. If anything they should buff the other bots, not nerf tapebots too.
Considering they only appear in and around warehouses or when you plant tier 3 crops - which require you to clear a warehouse - i fail to see how this is a problem.
As for armor and health increases... again, this is a game about building stuff, not a shooter. Building an explosion-proof warehouse tank isn't that hard.
like blackphonenixx said, theyre late game enemies what do you expect???
what you say has no meaning because thats the whole point, and theres plenty workarounds, once you learn the game.
if youre silly enough to go near warehouses early game then you will die, "without your own gun they are near impossible to get close to" yep, they are ranged enemies, thats why you need a spudgun.......
armor, is your vehicle, its a building game, so build
the health boost is.... burgers, thats why its worth getting the cookbot and getting burgers made before a run
it happened to me in my first world, i was intrigued by this big structure in the distance that i had to go investigate only to get shot out of no where and die, most of my stash was on me as i was quite early into it. but i gathered my bearings and finally retrieved it.
thats what makes games exciting, i can now, clear warehouses without dying on foot, and i have done some with a tank which is even easier. its all part of learning the game then it becomes easy. if it was all to easy from the start there would be no challenge and get boring too quickly
its not who shoots first wins, you have to adjust to the situation. know when to ADS and when to hip fire. hip firing can get you out of alot of trouble, also retreating. its no big deal to retreat if theres more tapebots than you can deal with.
then youre coming out the vent without even knowing the situation, slow and steady. use 3rd person to help with seeing round corners etc you can place your lift and build small shields of blocks etc
you can evade tape by hip firing and moving side to side
the mounted spudguns are rigid, but placed at the right height for tapebots.
the explosive tapebots are the only danger, so i usually takeout them out on foot as ive not fully tested the armor capabilities of the tank against them.
afaik, theres a glitch were the explosive radius goes through the metal 3 and can damage switches etc
