I do not believe the developers will do anything about it, and Scrap Mechanic will remain one of the games with potential, but will remain in a half-assed state with thousands of bugs that haven't been fixed to this day.
So Alex, if you can do it better, do it.
But if not, you shouldn't say they're using bad languages.
For me its a really good work. And it will be better some day.
Sometimes it's good to be a little more optimistic.
The game can't connect to a server, because the multiplayer system is strictly P2P. They HAVE to rework the entire multiplayer system, not just the P2P part, since there are things that should be reworked, and then be added as a Tool for Steam users who might want to host their own servers. It is not as easy as you think.
I'm not going to help this game, I have my own projects in far better game engines than this trash. The developers are inept for anything, from how long it took to bring us any updates on the game. And they aren't using bad languages, I never said that. By this I meant they SUCK at LUA and C++, and you need more than that to run a server.
I have been optimistic enough with this game. I'm done with it, for the most part and moved on.
second issue - game crashing objects
third issue - money
I don't get why people keep asking for it the last thing we need right now is dedicated servers. If you think multiplayer runs poorly now a dedicated server would only amplify the problems. Not to mention how easy it is to crash the game server side.
Edit: Just to clarify I don't think it is necessarily a bad idea on it's own (public servers would be a nightmare but private would be ok) It's just that too many things need to be fixed or changed for it to be plausible
P2P is enough. Just add in-game list of public games (Like in Deep Rock Galactic or Human Fall Flat) I think it is simple enough and there is no need to rewrite the multiplayer code.
