The ground is too slippery!
Given that we have only smooth tires, I could understand a bit of sliding on steep slopes covered in wet grass but my 8 wheel fully loaded miner slides like an econobox on ice.

The last straw was watching it, parked on solid stone with no more than a 5 degree slope, start slowly inching down hill as if it thought I wouldn't notice.

I can endure annoying things that promote realism and immersion. I can give up realism in the name of fun. This is both annoying and unrealistic. Please fix it!

Take a look at real cars of varying weights. You can park a truck on a 45 degree paved slope or 30 degree grass covered and it will go nowhere if the brakes hold.

Just place it on a lift/flat surface/weld it to the ground

that's not a solution so much as a hacky way to get around the actual problem. a problem that they could fix. tires in real life have a lot of friction, even on mud/dirt if they have groves in them. a tire shouldn't be slipping unless you are parked at a 80 degree angle with 50 fruit crates.
another solution is to make the tiles of the world less hilly. aka spread the hill out over 5+ tiles so that the angle of the hill isn't so great. it would also make mining rocks so much less annoy.

They could add chains to tires or a offroad wheel type that doesn`t slip but hey we`ll see

I don't agree with you that using the lift is a hacky way around it, the lift is in the game for a reason. They have already put a system in place to stop you using the lift as a way to protect yourself or your vehicle from bots by making it so that it lowers a bit with every hit from a bot. I do however agree with you that there are too many damn hills and bumps, why do the stone deposits all have to be on those bumps, makes it so hard to mine them. My current stone miner is fine at getting all the little bits once they are loose, I actually find it harder to get the stone that is still static and stuck to the ground

People. this is not the place to tell them what you want. I go straight to their twitter, which they do read and ask for peoples ideas. this is just for players. I have complained about the friction. but they need to see it is a bigger problem than just me. so put your wants and complaints on twitter.

They are already aware of this

I think I saw another thread about tire durability that mentioned the friction can be changed in the game scripts. I'm looking for it now so I can mod myself some indestructible tires because these hotfixes keep uninstalling all the mods I've done and i gotta go find which files to edit again. If I find it I'll come back and report it : )

I have heard that even the mode has not helped. And If they are aware of it. then they need to know that it is pissing off alot of people.

That's good news. Tires need an upgrade path like so many other parts. It would be cool if it branched between off road and speed.

Its a pity they pay more attention to Twitter. I've never made an account for that cesspool.

They should've released the game on Twitter... :steamsalty:

Yeah the tires need a fix. Idk what they're made of but it's not rubber.

I think being able to upgrade the tires like everything else is a great idea. And sorry, that is were all companies post crap now.

Don't be sorry man it's not your fault. They're the ones choosing to ignore steam.

I digress though, it was just a cheap shot.
+1 for the tires.

twits... i mean twitter isn't THAT bad. at least you'll get heard/read.
i'll agree on the upgradable tires idea though. the sliding on hills isn't limited to SC. i've seen it happen in several different games. yes, it is annoying but we have to find work arounds until they do make changes to the code. one possibility is to build posts around it so it doesn't slide or as mentioned before, put it on the lift.
edit: just realized i quoted the wrong post. lol

there is little reason to simulate physics if in the end your creation doesn't follow physics when it's slipping down a hill for no reason.
the intended purpose of the lift is so that you can easily work on your creations, not so you can keep your creation from sliding away......

Very true but this game is also very much about finding new and different ways of doing things, it's what made me buy the game in the first place and I'm absolutely not saying that the low friction on the tires isn't a valid gripe, I just figure that whole mechanic of attacks lowering the lift was presumably put in so that you couldn't just use the lift indefinitely to protect creations or yourself. It's ok for us to disagree dude I'm still gonna carry on using my lift until this is fixed if you don't want to do that, don't do it...
