How to get the full creative mode ?
Hoy! I'm currently playing survival, but wanted to try a few builds in creative, but i can't find how to play on the survival map, and i don't have all the items in the creative menu.
Like vacuum, water container and else ... I don't get it, can someone help ?

I just looked it up, so i basically have to manually edit a file each time i want to try stuff on a survival map? Gosh that is tedious, i don't get why they didn't made a normal creative

Not each time , once

its pretty simple to edit the file - just backup the original file creating a copy.
then its a small edit with an epic effect

once the file is edited you can turn on or off a "creative style mode" whenever you want

If they just put in a way to automate oil collection I would never of bothered altering files , now i feel like I've seen everything and spoiled the game

They've confirmed they're working on that :)

Too late imo , maybe they should of played the game before releasing it , took all of 1 day before everyone realized fuel was broke and had to buff it themselves by 10x .
Then everyone didnt like being teased by blocks we cant have at warehouses so more files got altered.
All they had to do was make fuel points 10x and have a the switch beside treasure room that unlocks /decrypt and it would of prolonged the life of the game so so far.
Now you have people altering files for the first time and creating multiplayer mismatch and all sorts of problems.
Pity.

still under development - people know that if anyone is altering files at the moment they know that things gonna change

Well, if you think it sucks, there's plenty of full released good games out there.
Beta have never been for everyone.
You might wanna give this a go again, once out of beta and released, to see if its to your liking in it's finished state. :)

It's EA. Expect things to be broken. Don't act like it's finished.

It's a tricky task to balance a game for both single player and multi player. There's absolutely still a lot of number tweaking to do (and some quality of life stuff that can be improved - like seeds having a container that would let you stack more than 20 and some sort of recycler to chew up old/scavenged parts into resources), thankfully editing the files for personal preference on harvestable rates isn't a difficult task.

I stoped playing anyway, We were playing with a friend but we felt the survival was released way too early/ was too focused on the aesthetics.

Now, don't get me wrong, the game is really pleasing visually, Bots animations are greats, the world gen is marvelous, the global apperance have nothing to be ashamed.

But man, the survival gameplay is just way too tedious/not designed at all.
The food system is awful :
- Having only milk as hydratation, and not being able to "purifiate" water is stupid. Having a gauge to fill with only one item is not survival friendly. (Yeah, there is the crafted food, i'll get to it later)
- The food system is incomplete, Okay you can grow stuff, okay, if your field is too big it attract bots, but that's it, you basically have to choose : Grow what you need to buy a gun, and then the ammo, with A PAINFULL GRIND considering the quantity you need. Or grow what you need to survive.
We ended up dying slowly, constantly, and carring a bed to respawn where we were.
The crafted food ? Clearly not worth the time, you spend more ressources in the process than what it grant you. So just a waste of ressource. therefore, we ended up not gathering raw meat anymore as it was just filling our chests with no use. (A craft to cook it would have been a good choice, but hey, at least the cook bot animations are amazing)

We would have loved to do automated farms, defense, cools vehicules but, the GRIND, the latency in multiplayer ( Me and my friend have really good computers, and optic fiber, and the fact that the game use around 70% of an i7 6700k while not hosting says it all) and the bad physics is just way too painfull.

We would have loved to have more mechanical energy, but no, there is none. The decisive point was this topic, the creative, we wanted to at least have some fun with the update, but :
When you have to edit the game files/Install a mod to have access to the update, it's just a design flaw, nothing else.

I never wrote a bad review for a game, but i think it will be my first time, and that's sad, cause the game have a good potential...

The game is work in progress. It's not even done, and you're saying it's terrible. Why not wait for it to be released first?
RaptorYezous May 26, 2020 @ 3:01pm
I've played with my friend before, and after many years we wanted to come back and try the newly released survival, i know it's in early acces, but that's my critics after testing it.
I just feel it's too bad that they mostly focused on the aestetics rather than the gameplay.

Edit : I'm not saying the game is terrible, the Survival gameplay part is terrible.

They actually re-used quite a bit from the old creative terrain world. They focused a lot on the gameplay. What do you not like? The grind? That will most likely be balanced out. When you write a bad review, it impacts the ENTIRE GAME. Not just that mode, but it actually makes Steam think that you think the ENTIRE GAME IS BAD.
