that's not how it works...
Freedom of speech only really applies in the context of the government. It also doesn't free you from the consequences of your speech. For example, if you insult an important political figure, then they can't do anything. but if you bully people on twitter, you can get your account deleted or whatever, since they aren't the government. steam isn't the government. your messages are borderline spam (you brought back 4 identical threads just for the sake of bumping them, when you really should've only brought back 1 or made a new one) and steam has the ability to delete those messages. steam can even delete my message lol.
anyways what I'm saying is "freedom of speech" simply does not apply here. and even if it did, I would have the freedom to tell you to shut up.
As someone who plays with hammer block enabled in survival, it certainly does a lot. It may not create an opening, but it allows you to stay within melee engagement distance to capitalize on the openings the bots already have.
It also gives the melee combat more depth and makes it feel much more satisfying when you learn the different bot attacks and which ones are safe or unsafe to parry reliably. It also helps give you more of a chance when you are being attacked by several at once.
Rather than just having to constantly backpedal away while swinging. which is pretty boring.
Really wish they would add it back in natively.
