Warehouses need work
tapebots do too much damage, they are too lethal, and death leads to you having to run the whole area again.

even if you put like a bunk bed by every lift, that would be good.
Or tone down their lethality a bit.

Danno May 12, 2020 @ 5:13pm
actually you can't place or destroy
In warehouses

You can place your lift down and place blocks on it. I used that to build barricades in the doorways to fight the tapebots easier.

I can second this. I went through the warehouse last night. It was a huge disappointment. I died probably around 25+ times going through there. I stopped counting after 25 and just muddled my way through the rest.

The tapepots need to have their auto aim, and auto see through walls disabled and completely overhauled AI. Though to be honest I think the characters are a bit too flimsy as is. A haybot can three shot you. I'd like to suggest levels for characters as they progress giving them more hitpoints, and more damage. I really dislike that my hammer does the same damage as a spud gun. Literally something that's free to use is just as effective. Unless you're facing tapepots who murder you regardless.

The layout seemed nice, but the confusing nature of the levels doesn't help you at all. They are well designed levels, just confusing at first. The dual elevator system is very confusing as it doesn't tell you which one goes up or down before you get in it. The fact that there is no easy way down once you get to the top is horrible. Not only did I have to truck myself up there, but then I had to go through the maze a second time. Please for the love of scrap make an elevator that goes from roof to floor level.

I would suggest making the elevators go both up and down, but you have to unlock each level by getting to the other side. This way people can simply go up and down as they please instead of spending time walking back, or as I call it fun busting time.

The rewards are lack luster at best. Minus the seeds, and 3 outfit boxes everything else was meh at best. By the time I was raiding I already had gear beyond what was found. The return on investing wasn't worth it. 2 hours to go through the warehouse only to have no ammo left, and extremely low on food. I could have easily got everything else faster by farming, gathering, and looting regular buildings all without the hassle of having to zerg the warehouse for a few boxes of loot.

I feel like the warehouse is a no go zone for now. Just not worth the effort and time it takes.

I will say, dying 25 times is a lot... Did you have your own spudgun? Also if your sound is low, turn it up.. You should be able to hear the bots before you can even see them, same with them seeing you. If you're still only using a hammer, you shouldn't be in a warehouse, and shouldn't complain about it being hard... If you have a spudgun, just take your time and be a little sneaky with listening for where the bots are and hit them in the head.. They only take one spud..

The tapebots also make lethal snapshots sometimes.

They would be fine if we were provided sleeping spots per floor, or if we could bring a bed.
Or if the bots were less lethal.

While its true that the tapebots do 55 damage per shot, effectively 2 shotting your character, this I think is what makes the Warehouses fun. You have to be extremely alert and ready the whole way through. The tapebots damage is balanced by their health, they are glass cannons; a spud gun can one shot them. I have not found any point to ware houses yet other then component kits (30 some odd kits first run through) quite disappointed to find there is nothing worth while at the top.

Bare in mind that once they are finished the devs plan for everything in the warehouse to be lootable, I think that also means the blocks etc. Definitely worth it once they're done I'd say

dev's said the warehouse is unfinished and everything will be lootable if you beat the warehouse. So I'm not going to tackle them till I an loot them, and they are more balanced.

It's tape......... haybots have pitchforks and do less damage, but tapebots.....they just shoots you with tape and murder you in 2 seconds!?!? How is that balanced, if they had nail guns it would make sense BUT FOKEN TAPE!??!!?

To be fair, you're shooting potatoes at robots to kill them.

But climbing back up 5 confusing floors is not.
Hence my various suggestions.
