[Slight rant] logic block with no NOT gate
This would allow you to have a "spuds only" arm/button on your farm (with spuds stored in the ammo container) while your "main" farming mix is comprised of some other set of veggies.
I'm not sure if 20 bananas and 10 blueberries is all that expensive compared to non-automatable resources too -- the pumps require beeswax which I'm pretty sure can't be automated right now, and while it's possible to use a vehicle to collect the metal, water, embers required for the metal 2 those are all finite/non-respawning resources (so you have to travel further afield eventually)... circuits and component kits can be automated via defences but that's not as reliable as you'd want. Contrast that with predictable returns from farming... I'd say that by the time I'm using spud guns commonly enough to require automated potato farming for ammo, I'd probably have automated crop generation set up already. Now, it's very much a "chicken or egg" question at that point because there's almost certainly a vacuum pump being used for automated planting in the farm that does bananas and blueberries, plus another for pumping in water... so I suspect that most people would just add some potato seeds to their existing auto-farm rotation and be set for ammo anyway. However, if you wanted e.g. an outpost base in one of the big cities with auto-farm just for ammo, then I can see that this might be a worthwhile corner-case.
Another potentially useful corner-case: if you're overflowing with soil bags, and have some defence turrets set up to handle Unauthorised Farming waves, you could have a ring of "decoy spuds" where any spuds that miss their targets will automatically plant into the soil. This will distract incoming bots, giving the turret operator more time to pick them off.
Using the mountable spud gun in this way is always going to be a corner case, I don't deny that! However, one of the great things about this game is the little details like this. It allows for creative solutions that are just a little more fun you might expect. And the more I think about "long ranged spud farming", the more I want to give it a try hahaha!
