It's the fact that they forgot to make a manual for anything. Literally not a shred of information whatsoever. And the tools you get to craft are terrible outside of creative.
How do I make a saw? it takes like 5 minutes to grow crops but you start starving in 5 minutes. I dont have time to do ANYTHING aside from grow crops
Until you're established I think its a better approach to gather corn and feed the cows for milk with a handful of plants that are more foody.
I've found the bars don't go down all that fast unless I've taken damage and my health regen is using up the hunger and thirst.
I started yestoday and I have plenty of food, drink and also have the components to cut down trees and drill stone.
Farming; plant 9 crops, anything more and unauthorised farming will be detected. Regardless it gives you a timer letting you know when the bots will attack. Plus you are not required to keep farming, you can have a rest and simply not plant anything and they will not attack.
Also feed corn to cows to get milk; I think its x3 corn per x1 milk (I could be wrong). Carrots give extra food, tomatoes extra water and beets equally both.
To make it easier, try to find a facility with a large glowing wrench above it to get access to craft bots etc. Once you start to automate your resource farming everything becomes much easier.
I'm sorry you're right.
It's SO obvious that "craftbots" are how you learn things and SO obvious where they are or what to do to get stuff out of it.
It's very obvious how to make more than 1 battery. It's EXTREMELY obvious how to make a saw.
This is just all so easy and simple finding things without any instruction, long distances, no recognizable formula, etc.
I wouldn't mind if we had a way to create our own map - simple "pencil and paper" would be just fine. I'm thinking about doing it in blocks and painting them to indicate areas of interest but then the map would be huge.
I've just started playing myself and I can tell you that the survival aspect of this game isn't really very punishing in comparison to many other games of the same type.
