duno for ps4
tought xbox seem to be a restrained pc
Also lol at the mention of Trailmakers, that game is built in Unity, while im sure some work was involved essentially they just had to press a few buttons and bam, console version, Scrap Mechanic is built on a custom-made game engine that doesnt come with built-in support for consoles.
Space Engineers comparison is much better, they too have written their own game engine, but in fairness they've been working on that engine since 2010-2012, where the scrap mechanic guys only started in 2016, might seem like nitpicking but those 4-6 years difference is exactly why Keen Software House can afford to start doing console port, their engine is 'done' & properly tested. Same cant be said for Axolot/Scrap Mechanic.
If its going to happen it will still be a pretty long time away in the future, remember they call the current game version 0.4, they dont even consider the game half done yet at this point, so it simply doesnt make sense for them to start thinking about other platforms yet.
if i was so satisfacted with a game with lot more feature i will not cone here
as you mentioned the platform is related with their skill to port it and many console game are never on pc
their is no rule they want what they can and prefere
who remind this era where the console game was far more performant than pc
